Our fine gentlemen arrived in Sevilla tonight in anticipation of tomorrow’s game against Real Betis. I can’t believe they flew. Why didn’t they just take the AVE? It’s like 2 1/2 hours by high speed train right? The flight can’t be more than an hour but I guess when you’re Real Madrid, you don’t have to deal with all the crap like security lines, etc. I’m guessing they probably get to skip that because everyone of them would get pulled aside for a pat down. Because seriously, if I were a TSA agent and they came through my airport, I’d be conducting as many first team strip searches as humanly possible.
200 fans awaited Los Blancos to cheer them on their welcome. Afterwards, some lucky fans had the chance to meet with the ever bubbly goofballs Marcelo & Pepe, who had autograph signing duty. Cuteness ensued (and the metal braces are back)!
And the Today We Train With… series continues with Iker. You get almost 5 minutes of Iker going through his paces (actually pretty interesting) to The Black Eyed Peas “I Got A Feeling” – that’s a warning in case you want to watch with the sound off. I know I did.
I’m guessing that the video might be blocked in a few countries due to the music, so here’s a direct link to view it.
And finally, the Real Madrid Foundation had their annual Alma Gala on Thursday night honoring Placido Domingo, who is a huge Madridista. Of course, since the boys were in training, they weren’t in attendance (except for the two below). Mou, along with captains Iker and Sergio appeared via video.
Angel Di Maria and Fabio Coentrao being our current injured players were in the audience representing. Also in attendance? Some of the Castilla Muppet Babies.
And they also did a bit of a tribute to the late Marquitos, which is a lovely thing to do. In general, they celebrated Real Madrid’s 11oth birthday in style.
