Word is coming down the pike that Eric Abidal is going to have to officially retire as a result of his liver transplant. I guess we all knew this was a very real possibility but it still makes me sad. I’m so sorry to see his career end but of course it is more important for him to get his full health back so he can be with his beautiful family. It just hard to see such a young man and a talented player go out this way. Here’s wishing him a long, happy life with success in whatever he chooses to do next. Animo Abidal!

Oh no!! I actually shouted that out loud when I read your headline. Where are you reading this though? There’s nothing on my usual sites.

oh, this just makes me so sad to hear. i’m glad he’s on the mend, i wish him nothing but health and happiness, but i’m gutted for him to have to end his career. still, health always comes first. best wishes, abidal!
