La Roja bid goodbye to Schruns today and moved on to Bern where they will play South Korea tomorrow. Of course, there was lots of extra shots of all their silliness to share.
Whatever was in the water or air in Schruns, I will definitely miss because it made our boys look super fine.
Pepe Reina decided to get all La Roja’s Next Top Model on our arses with predictably hilarious results. SMIZE, PEPE! MODEL H TO T!
This last one looks like it should be his high school graduation picture. I love this smiley goofball.
Schruns looks absolutely gorgeous. Here’s an RFEF video showing the scenery and a bit of practice.
Just lovely! I wonder if Nando donned his Saucy Milkmaid costume while Sergio pulled out the lederhosen? You just know he owns some…and that they are bedazzled. Did David Silva sadly hum “The Lonely Goatherd” while missing his Villa? (And speaking of, what do you think about them giving Pedro his number 7? I am not amused).
Here’s more video of their last practice in Schruns. I love these guys. They always look like they’re having fun.
Watishista April pointed us in the direction of these gifs of Pepe Reina trying to get a piggy back ride off of Nando with disastrous results.

Oh Pepe. What on earth were you thinking? Here they are in happier times. Sigh.
Iker posted a couple of pictures on Facebook: a thumbs upper and three boys with a common idol.
The team is already in Bern and the pictures are coming out. I’ll be making another post in a few minutes. (Photos courtesy of Daylife, RFEF.es and GF Sports. Gifs courtesy of hailsaniker)

ugh i HATE how they reassigned Villa’s number. (No offense, Negredo.) Almost as bad as when I saw Soldado wearing Nando’s 9 back in February. Disaster.
HAHA and I LOVE the mirror caption fun. Was that from the creepy “TU!!” commercial??
Yeah, it was. Did you see the adorable behind the scenes from the “TU!!!” commercial (aka Cruzcampo). You would have no idea that session produced such a scary commercial.
hahahhaa! just saw it, thanks to one of the older posts! Getting hard to keep up with all this burst of news- keep em coming!!! SERNAAAANDOOOOOOO (aww and Tormata….)
I don’t get the outrage at reassigning numbers. They have a 23 man squad and the numbers are from 1 to 23. If someone who used to be there isn’t then the number gets given to someone else and since most of the players have been there for a long time they have the numbers they want. Just like when there was an outrage at Villa getting 7 when Raul left.
It’s not outrage at the number being used again. Obv they can’t retire numbers or else people would be running around the pitch with four digits on their backs. But to be freshly dropped from the squad and be instantly replaced, to see another player with your number right after you’d worn it, will hurt even (or especially) the best players who wore that number fighting on campaigns that brought their country glory. Not saying anything can be done about it, but practicality doesn’t lessen the sting of the blow.
(At least in Torres’ case, we can be comforted that he’s regained the number TATOOED onto his arm…)
I’m sure Villa is more than happy for Pedro to have it. He’s that kind of guy, our Guaje.
Besides, he’ll be back.
Why can’t Pedro use his original WC number?
But if he used his original WC number than Jordi, who took Pedro’s old number, would have taken the 7.
I get that it sucks to see your favorite players number on someone else, but in Villa’s specific case he wasn’t dropped due to bad form. He has an injury and ruled himself out of the Euros. Since Pedro is a forward and Nando is set in his 9 it made the most sense for him to take it. I do understand more about Villa taking over Raul’s number.
(I wonder what would happen if he ever transferred to team who had a player who didn’t want to give up the 9 shirt)
Maybe no deal.
The transitions on that first RFEF video… >__>
I know, right? It’s like when Nana learns how to use Windows Movie Maker with the vacation pictures.
Transitions? Couldn’t even bear to watch most of it. For me it was the soundtrack… the music supervisor in me is very sad. Very sad, indeed.
Poor Schruns… they deserve a better promo video, lol..
Most of us in here could have done something better, TBH.
Do you think Sergio’s head looks a little too big in one of the last pics?
the little ninos with the casillas jerseys are killing me! i always melt when little ones wear kits, it’s just too, too cute.
i love the pic of sergio lifting iker up. they’re such sillies. it’s like sergio wanted iker to know he was still his boo, despite all the competition.
we SERIOUSLY have the best looking team in the entire world. and the most talented, too. it’s a lethal combination.
also? i heart pepe. always have, always will.
