The UEFA has denied the RFEF’s request to have one minute of silence for Miki Roque at today’s Spain-Portugal match. They have also told La Roja that they can’t wear black mourning armbands. Lest you think this is just general regulations, they did allow one minute of silence before the France-Sweden game after the death of journalist Thierry Roland. Pooheads. Thanks to watishisto PLL for bringing this to my attention.
Updated: Watishista jellyace found this info. I guess they relented.
Spain have been given permission to wear black armbands in honour of Miki Roqué & Manolo Preciado. Fans will applaud in 26th min. @bghayward

It’s being said that the RFEF never put in a request for a minute of silence to happen, so there was nothing for them to turn down.
Well, I guess then the media can fight it out as to whether it did or did not happen and in the end, perhaps Miki will get his moment of silence after all.
UEFA hasn’t figured out a way to make money on the minute of silence.
