Let’s Hear It For The (New) Boys!

3 Feb

Let’s give the boys a haaaaannnnnd!  We did it! We came, we saw, we scored (twice) and now Sevilla can put a sock in it.

Let's hear it for my baby, you know you gotta understand....

He looks so tiny and frail in that picture. You’d never know it from the way my boo plays. He just tears shit up. So smart on the field and what a gorgeous goal off a brilliant pass from Sami!

They're bromancing again and all is right with the world.

After a scoreless first half of what wasn’t exactly the most inspiring football (although we did have some good chances), Real triumphed thanks to Mesut, Sami, Manu & Lass.

Mesut shows his love for Real Madrid

Our boy Ozi once again endeared himself to the Bernabeu faithful by kissing the escudo (crest) of Real Madrid after scoring. I was so thrilled for him to score during this important game. He’s only been on the squad for a short time, but he’s made a real impact and you can tell how much the crowd and the team love him.

Manu Adebayor was also feeling the love when he scored his first goal as a member of Real Madrid off a great pass from Lass Diarra. He looked absolutely gobsmacked that he had scored and it was a real tasty little goal as well.  Mazel tov, Manu! Welcome to the family!

Manpile for Manu

Manu got manhandled by the ever enthusiastic Real squad. Sergio Ramos had to tackle him to the ground and lay on him (as is his special way) while the whole team gathered round. Lest you think that El Pirata is snubbing him, he had already given him a little sumpin’ sumpin’ (Are we now going to have to think up names for this new Pirate/Ozil/Manu triangle?):

Some guys have all the luck: Snuggles from Sergio and being the filling in an El Pirata/Ozil sandwich? Damn, you're not wasting any time, Manu!

Poor Sami got mangled, AGAIN (and multiple times). Most serious was a rather vicious Khedergio collision when they went up for a header. Sergio’s head must be hard as a rock because he basically knocked Sami out. I wasn’t able to find a shot of it tonight, but I’ll look for one tomorrow. He was able to continue playing, but he got another smackdown towards the end and had to sit the rest of the game out. The poor baby!  He needs some TLC and I think I know just the person to give it to him. Sergio has a lot to make up for after giving Sami a taste of his Noggin of Mass Destruction. Might Masougio and I suggest that the apology starts with chocolate sauce and perhaps a new headband or two? WA-TISH!

Sami, honey, how do you get yourself in these positions?

Ouch. You can just tell that’s not going to end well for poor Sami. He’s a big tough guy, but bodies can only take so much, you know?

Well, it’s the middle of the night so I’m going to end with some quick shots and then I’ll fill in more of the blanks tomorrow.

I guess we can start calling this photo section Put On Your Game Face since it seems to be a regular feature now:

Fabiano and Arbeloa look like they're about to start spelling out Y-M-C-A.

Cristiano didn’t have the best game, but he’s always a good bet for entertaining photos. Thanks, Crispy!

CR7's favorite yoga pose: Upwards Facing Arse

"Two Classicos in a week? I'm going to my happy place now - where there's always orange juice and Playstation."

Looks like some sort of La Liga prayer circle all up in there.

CR7 does his best DeNiro impression: "You talking to me?"

"Thanks for your concern, Walter but I'm doing just fine. My loose screw and I will be playing in the Copa Del Rey final and you'll be doing...what?"

Iker showing off the skillz that pay the billz

"Whoooo! I made it through a game without someone trying to kill me!"

"God, I know you're there, because it's me, Mou. Anyhow, we need to discuss these April Barca games. What's it gonna take to sort that out? I can organize a meet and greet with Kaka or Crissy if you want. How about some seats in the VIP palco?"

And last, but never ever least, is the bromancing trio that started all this  HB & HB nonsense. The ever wonderful boys of the DLD:

The originals and still the best...

Sorry this was heavy on images and short on text. It’s been a loooooong day.  Until Sunday, HALA MADRID!

I was so happy for them! It’s nice to see a bit of a spark come back into things. I really hope that this helps them get their groove back. I’m looking forward to Sunday’s game. Thanks for the comment! It’s nice to see a new face here. Welcome to the insanity! 🙂 Lozil

    love the yoga pose.
knew you’d be moony over ozil/khedira!
brutal game, once again, and poor, poor sami.
cripsykarim is in a bit of slump, no?

okay – that’s all i’ve time for because i see my boss heading my way with a really unpleasant scowl plastered on her face.
    toodles, lo!

Uh oh! Maybe your boss would be happier if you turned her on to the hot soccer man love? It could work, you know!

I was so thrilled with the Ozil/Khedira magic. It was just like old times (aka the beginning of the season). How cute are they together? This was pre-Crozil levels of adoration.

CrispyKarim is Slump City right now, although Benz had a really good game even if he didn’t score. And watching Cris play lately made me think the recent fic (http://community.livejournal.com/footballslash/3655494.html)on Football Slash about him being a robot is quite possibly true. (For those interested in reading, it’s a locked entry so you will need to be members of the community to see it – worth it though – it’s rather hilarious).

The universe needs to leave Sami alone. His life seems to be turning into some sort of elaborate hurt/comfort fic and I do not approve. He’s been called up for the Germany vs. Italy game so let’s hope that he doesn’t get stomped on as well there.

Maybe I need to put a tearful eyeliner-running “LEAVE SAMI ALONE!!!!!!” video up on YouTube?

My dear – you must do what I did and turn your boss into a fan! I’ve had no grief since.

Oh, Iker. Oh, my. An Iker in action is a beautiful thing.

Love Mou’s conversation with God. Hope they got everything worked out.

    • headbandsandheartbreak February 4, 2011 at 1:43 pm #

Me too, shiggers, me too! I *need* a trophy this season. I’ll take Champions League or Copa Del Rey. I’m not picky. Perhaps we should let Barca have the consolation prize of La Liga. I think that would be a nice gesture on our parts, right? 😉 However, next year? I want the treble for sure.

And yes, Iker is poetry in motion.

Girls, let me just tell you, that you do a tremendous job here with your blog. Thank you!!! I only discovered it a couple of days ago and I’m so glad I did. Just gotta love your sense of humour and your sharp observations! 😉
To be honest, I didn’t care much for Real Madrid before Mesut an Sami joined (I am german myself). But now, I kinda got addicted to this team and watch all their games via crappy internet live streams…
I am sooo glad that they won against Sevilla and so happy about Ozi’s goal.

    • headbandsandheartbreak February 5, 2011 at 6:27 pm #

Cherry, Cherry, Cherry! (May I call you, Cherry?) You’re making me squee with all the nice things you’re saying! While I did watch and like Madrid over the years (but not always on a regular basis), I adore Mesut and Sami and my involvement became much more committed when they joined. I love this team – they are an absolute delight. It’s just such an interesting time for the team. New and exciting players, Mou, a chance to really rebuild the squad from the ground up – that really appeals to me. Plus, the Madridistas that I have “met” through the fandom have been wonderful. And we also have people like unamadridista who gives so much to the fan community and is an endless, generous source of information to both long time and new fans – it makes it easy to fall in love with the team…and the fandom. Maisougio and I started this blog as a bit of fun and stress relief. People have been so lovely about commenting and giving us feedback. We really appreciate it and thank you for your kind words from the bottom of our hearts. We hope that people will embrace the silliness and have some fun with us. Tell your friends and anyone else that wants to embrace the pervert within! 😉 HALA MADRID! HALA CHERRY! – Lozil

PS Wouldn’t it be AWESOME if the rumors were true and Madrid signed Miroslav Klose in the summer transfer window? I think my heart would just explode with love and excitement.

      • Cherrycake February 5, 2011 at 6:48 pm #

Miro Klose. Yes! That would be great. More so, since he seems to be going nowhere with Bayern at the moment. But, sadly, I don’t see it coming. But then, we now have “Manolo” Adebayor, no? Ain’t he cute? Great debut if you ask me!

  5. headbandsandheartbreak February 5, 2011 at 6:54 pm #

Well, you never know what might happen! That would be amazing. I thought Manu did an awesome job (I’m still calling him Manu after his nickname when he was at Arsenal! But Manolo is totes adorable) and he seemed genuinely thrilled to score. I really hope that he blossoms under Mou’s tutelage. He seems to be settling in nicely and they seem like a supportive group of guys, so we’ll see how it goes. I was very surprised to hear about the Peter Lion/Gago brawl, but who knows what tensions have been brewing among those who have been out for a long time or aren’t getting much playing time. It may be a very different story for them. The regular starters seem to really like each other.
