Karim was looking good in his Gaultier kit yesterday but it seems that his reported injury might not be as mild as previously thought, DAMN IT.
Reports are now saying that he might be out for 10 days and miss the Sporting Gijon game. If I calculate correctly, that might also mean that he could also miss the Champion’s League game vs. Tottenham. ARGH. Higuain is doing better but probably won’t be ready to play by the weekend so it’s going to be very interesting. Tottenham’s Gareth Bale and Jonathan Woodgate look like they will both be out for the game on April 6th so I have no idea what that game will look like.
In better news, we have a game to look forward to on Saturday! (2:00 PM Eastern, see you all at the pub Sweaty Shanks Pena members!) as a judge blocked the strike. Thank f**k. I really don’t want to go without watching Real this weekend. I was thinking it would be like the weekend I was so footy starved that I found myself nursing a Guinness and watching Millwall vs. Scunthorpe. Seriously, I can’t do that again.
Plus, I need all these sweet boys back in my life. Pronto!
International results were kinda boring. Paraguay beat USA 1-0. Costa Rica tied Argentina 0-0. Okay, you can wake back up now for some serious cuteness!
Muppet Baby Alum Alex visited the Real Madrid benjamine team on Monday and if you are the sort, this will have you dropping an ovary.
The blessed unamadridista has all the deets here but one thing – check 0ut all the way on the left:

Who might that be, you ask? Well, that’s young Theo Zidane. His daddy Zizou is, as you all well know, a legend and drop dead gorgeous.
If you get a moment, please stop by una’s site and give her some support. You may have read some of the comments here about upsetting allegations on una’s blog that was made in the reader submission post she kindly put up. The poster is now saying she’s “disappointed” in una and generally being a total dick. una rocks this fandom’s world and I want her to know that even if we have an issue with what that person said, that we love and support una herself. If you agree, drop her a little line.
Sergio’s celebrating his 25th today and looks remarkably awake for someone who made it back to Madrid in the wee hours and probably had most of that night rocked by some hot Sernando action. 😉
I should look so good most days, much less after celebrating my birthday and flying back from Lithuania.

Poor Benz. I hope he is okay and the injury is not too serious. The good news is that he (and everyone else on the FNT) looked insanely hot in the new kit. Meow!
I’m really saddened by what’s been going on over at Una’s blog. I agree that some inappropriate and hurtful things were said. I just hope that this doesn’t affect Una or her blog negatively in the long run; she means too much to the fandom. And thanks to her, I found HB&HB 🙂
Keeping my fingers crossed for Benz!
I’m glad you found us through una. I have the utmost respect for her and I’m praying it doesn’t come back to hurt her as well. I certainly hope that horrible girl apologizes to her.
I think that when the buzz dies down, we will all see that things will go fine for Una, and this will all blow over and we will move on with our lives. Una has probably learned a wee lesson on trusting other people and Isa has been force fed a college major in cross-cultural morality, with a minor in journalism in just two days time! She’s gone from first to worst in a lot of minds. It’s a little sad that there was a contingent of commenters who had no clue that any of it was insensitive or scandalous. Innocence is bliss!
It is surprising that people didn’t find that piece offensive, isn’t it? There was just so much wrong in there, you had a wealth to choose from. I think it’s not ‘innocence’ in this case, but more like (potentially willful) ignorance. 😉
onoz benz 😥 don’t be hurt. we need you!!!
to the rediculousness on una’s blog, i really, really, really hope it blows over soon. i love her, she is amazing and so in depth with the coverage of the team, stuff that you just can’t get anywhere’s else. i know lately people have been a little too damanding and a little underappreciating (esp with all the translating of every little thing. she most likely has a job to pay the bills and this she does out of her deep love for los blancos). i knew it was going to be a bad idea with isabella’s “interviews.” i don’t think it reflects badly on una. good, happy vibes sent her way
I hope it doesn’t – someone said that they had brought the article to the attention of the folks at Real Madrid. That may or may not be the case, but that could potentially cause a problem for her. If Isabella’s crap causes una’s blog to be shut down, I’ll have a shitfit.
I finally lost it and went at IsaBella hammer and tongs. She’s stepped even further over the line. A Madrid local wrote in saying that she visited the training grounds weekly and that IsaBella’s assertion that Sergio hit a girl with his car was an out and out lie. She called her on all of her bullshit. IsaBella’s reply was this: “on a weekly basis? it’s a pity you didn’t mention that before, we could have met and I could have taken you inside Valdebebas.”
And that’s when I lost it. The nerve of her! So I let her have it and then suggested we start ignoring her attention seeking bullshit. Her 15 minutes are up. She’s obnoxious.
BENZ come on heal up before Champions league!!!
There is so many injured players right now!!
I was just reading that post, I mean UNA has a great blog one small post of one of her fans and a million people criticize her! I am going to go and Post now!!!
Oh, everyone is criticizing IsaBella, not una. I just want her to know that we love *her*
International friendlies, etc. increase the potential of injuries for players and it’s so distressing.
I ran into a fellow Madridista pal on the subway last night and we were talking about the hideous schedule for April and how everyone is going to be exhausted (including us). We were commenting that Argentina played Messi throughout their schedule and even though he’s like The Little Engine That Could, he’s not super human. That could work in our favor, but I would never wish him injury. I just think that they push these guys way too hard with all the competition this time of year. We’re going to essentially be playing a game every three days in April. How can we be at our best and remain injury free? It’s going to be extremely interesting.
I know I am going to have to go to alot of Bikram Yoga sessions to keep my calm going through April!
Those games are going to be the death of me lol
HALA Madrid!
I may have to up my acupuncture sessions!
