I missed quite a bit of stuff last night due to my post-El Clasico state of tipsiness, so I’ll lump everything in along with some Put On Your Game Face action. I’m going to start out with this great shot of Sergio and Villa.
Mou did his post game presser and the first thing he did was take the press to task for walking out on Aitor Karanka. Good for him! He also refused to answer questions from any of the reporters who walked out. Mou has the courage of his convictions and I love that. He questioned the officiating: “Once again, we were down to ten men for a long time. And once again, there was an incredible difference in refereeing criteria. I don’t understand why Dani Alves wasn’t booked a second time when he provoked a penalty. Things would have been different in the final ten minutes had he been sent off. We played very well with ten men because we prepared for it. We knew what we had to do. We now wish conditions to be the same for both teams on Wednesday.” He had kind words for the fans: “The essence of football is for fans to support their team, and we were acknowledged by ours tonight. The Bernabeu crowd saw a team with ten players showcase courage and hard work to draw a game, and even have chances to score a second strike, in a situation in which Barcelona could have netted three or four more goals. A team doesn’t need to win to be respected. People just need to feel the players give their all, just like Real Madrid did tonight.” I agree – they gave their all and people could see that.

I’m guessing that the press didn’t need their lip readers to get the gist of what the fans were saying. Apparently, someone got hit solidly in the face with that ball. I hope Messi apologizes or explains himself. It seems really out of character for him to act that way. Well, that said, let’s get down to the fun stuff!

Yeah, that ref always has his hair slicked back like that. My one question is this… I can almost imagine that they just wet their hair down, instead of using a gel product. You would think that after sweating up a storm out there, that the gel would start to sting their eyes. I’m no expert, but I know what product feels like when it gets in my eyes.
Perhaps we can get the boys to explain their product choices…? Someone tweet them and ask… They may actually reply.

i dont know what it is about mesut’s. its the first time i’ve ever noticed a guy’s butt. i guess its cause it goes so perfectly with the rest of him. i feel like higuain’s shoulders are a tad narrow and from front he looks a bit oestrogen-ish (runs for cover again). his face is beyond gorgeous though (ignoring the teeth).
torres – never really noticed his butt. i kinda doze off momentarily everytime he plays. i like the freckles though

I’m definitely older than him and he does like older women so I have that going for me! 🙂 As for Anna Maria, I’m not down with bitching about her. Mainly for the fact that she was his choice – he cared for her deeply and they were together for a pretty long time considering how young he is. He’s a smart kid and by all accounts, sweet – so I assume that his judgment isn’t flawed. If he loved her, it’s not my place to judge. Second, it’s not that cool to dis a sister – as a bad girl with a number of flaws myself, I’ve been on the other end of the “What the hell does he see in her?!” scenario plenty of times. You never know what makes two people click. And I think women tear each other down way too much. I’m not into with the flashy WAG stylings personally (no pleather leggings in my closet!), but I guess it’s as valid a lifestyle choice as anything else. It’s just not mine. :: shrugs::

Ah, remember, I have interacted with you (under a different name) on Loew’s Miserables among other places – you’ve always stuck up for Anna Maria. I’m not completely enamored of her but I do think that people slag her off horribly and it’s not cool. I remember being younger – in love with love and doing plenty of things that I’m sure people would judge me harshly for. So…I tend to cut her some slack.
I love you for this comment. Women are always going after other women! Why do we do it? They criticize that lovely young woman for having a couple of relationships in her past. What do they want? A 26 year old virgin (she was 26 when they met – and since when is that old?)? Someone with no disappointments in her love-life? Someone with no romantic standards, who should have stayed in her failed marriages?
I liked her a great deal. And I consider it interesting and instructive that I have never come across a single negative tabloid article about her. She was always described – and continues to be described – as a lively, pretty and charming young woman – and nothing else. And they should know – as the sister of a famous woman and a member of a wealthy and prominent family, she’s certainly well known to them.
Why didn’t Iker tell me he needed someone to rub his leg? I’ll be right there, honey–just hold that pose.
