Cris takes his lucky jump as he enters the pitch. Yep, that worked!
Ah, this will be a quickie. I’m sleepy, I’m watching Saturday Night Live and I have a busy day of school work ahead of me tomorrow. What a match and what a spanking for Sevilla. I was truly surprised at the final score. I expected a more balanced game.
The boys were on fire tonight – in particular, Crissy, Ozil and Lass. Really strong performances from all of them. Kaka and Benz too. Sergio started off the scoring at 21′ with a delicious header off Mesut’s corner. He looks incredibly hot here!
Out of respect for his former team, he kept his celebration subdued. This was actually the first time that he has scored at Sevilla. Cristiano had a very near miss at 24′ when a header hit the post. He didn’t haven’t to wait all that long as he popped one in with an assist from Pepe.
Mesut again provided a beautiful ball to Kaka who neatly put it away at 42′. At this point, I was starting to feel bad for Sevilla. Their defense was doing a crap job and their poor goalkeeper, Javi Varas, was getting hammered. He did manage to make some good saves or the score would have been much worse.
After the half, Real Madrid continued to dominate. Kaka was subbed out at 56′ for Manu. At 58′, Xabi was injured and subbed out to give him a rest. Thankfully, it doesn’t seem serious. Albiol came on for him. Negredo got a goal (with an assist from Romaric) at 61′ which surprised the heck out of all of us. I have to admit, I was actually not even looking at the screen and completely missed the goal. But Cristiano basically shut down any happy celebration at 65′ when he intercepted the ball and did some nifty footwork to bang home his second goal.
Five minutes later, Mesut gave Crispy a gorgeous ball and Cris made his hat trick. This made 32 goals for Cris, putting him ahead of Messi in the pichichi. Wowsa!
He celebrated by doing a little dance and jumping bounce with Manu. It was totally adorable. At this point the score was 5-1. Brutal for Sevilla and 20 minutes to go. A mere five minutes later, with an assist from Benz, Cris slotted in his 4th goal of the evening. CrispyKarim, FTW! There was also a hot Crozil moment that I need a screencap of. Mesut gave Cris this foxy little side eye look that said “Oh, you are most assuredly getting some Playstation and orange juice tonight!”
He looks happy and you can’t really blame him, you know? He’s leading Messi in the scoring race, but truly, competition aside, what a great season goal-wise for Cris! Mesut came out at 78′ and El Pirata sprinted on, much to Dollo’s delight. She doesn’t often get to join us for matches, so I was glad he played. At 80′ there was some weird ass moment where Romaric grabbed Arbeloa by the neck and then flicked his ear. It caused alot of drama with Xabi racing off the bench to break things up and both teams thundering over. Romaric earned a yellow for his troubles. At 82′ Cris almost scored his fifth goal of the night on a ball from El Pirata, but it was not to be. However, Negredo managed to get a second goal past Iker at 84′ but there was nothing that could save Sevilla at that point. Final score: 6-2. And now, some pretty pictures:
Benzie makes a beautiful shape
Our Fearless Leader
(The Mouberries made an appearance today. Argh!)
HALA MADRID!
i missed the match but will catch the replay 🙂 the boys were BEAST! look at Mou, being a boss haha
the cris-manu dance and bounce was also performed by cris-marcelo earlier this season.
ozil’s passing was incredible! the last one to benz who passed to cris for his 4th goal – WOW! the one to benz in the first few mins (which benz missed) was incredible.
the cris-manu dance and bounce was also performed by cris-marcelo earlier this season.
Yes, I am aware of that. But since we all, ya know, follow the same team and watch the same games, it seemed kind of pointless to mention that.
“Mesut gave Cris this foxy little side eye look that said “Oh, you are most assuredly getting some Playstation and orange juice tonight!””
i didnt see it? 😦 around which minute?
is it the look mesut gave when they were showing replays during the time a sevilla player was down injured? it seemed like it was for marcelo though.
Not sure. I’m currently downloading the game and when I find it, I’ll post it. I was watching the game live at the pub.
i cant wait to see it. remember the wink he gave lahm ( i think it was lahm) after he scored against turkey. i fainted on the spot.
It was Lahm! It was Turkey! It was adorable!
He wasn’t celebrating – but he was “celebrating”!
i have never been more proud of him than i was that moment. he had been getting crap all week for opting for germany, and then with 30 000 turkish fans in the stadium booing his every touch, it would have sent any other 21 year old crying to the bench. but no, he pulled through, slicked the ball into the back of the net, and went back to his starting position to resume play. incredible. i cried.
Me too. I wrote a whole paper for grad school on this photo of him and the media literacy implications, integration, etc.
did you throw in the post game photo of him and angela merkel 🙂 no fair, you get to write about ozil in school and i have to write about disease and disgusting bowel habits..
WHERE do u download the games?!!
I’m currently all googly-eyed cuz here in the Caribbean you don’t get to see much Spanish football! Sadz i know cuz half of the caribbean women missing out on The Hottest Club with the Hottest Players in the World= Real Madrid.
Drop me a line at hbandshbreak [a t] gmail [ d o t] com and I’ll fill you in.
ooh, ooh, me too, Lozil! I’ve been wanting to download some of the games for quite some time now. I’ll be dropping you a line, as well, if you don’t mind… 🙂
No worries, just send me an email.
you could also try watching them online. they dont telecast much on tv where i am either, so i watch all the games live online..
Lozil, all the goal celebrations were toned down because of the death of a Spanish golf player. Alvaro and Sergio Canales explained it in their post-game tweets.
what’s Mouberries? 🙂
Crispy’s goal celebrations certainly weren’t subdued, but then again he’s not Spanish. I know all about the death of Seve Ballesteros but Sergio specifically said in this post match interview: “This is my first goal in Seville and I didn’t celebrate it out of respect for the fans.”
Mouberries – again, in the Glossary.
To me they were all a little subdued. But of course, if he said so then I won’t argue with that.
Happy Cris = Happy Andrea 🙂
Great game, everyone looked really sharp out there.
Oh Andrea, we can be buddies cuz Happy Cris= Happy Me too!!
*squeals in happiness for him*
But MMMMM that pic of Sexio- it took me a while to figure out that there was some Cris in there too 😛
Fabulous game for the darling boys! Splendid!
And such beautiful pictures. Finishing posts with Mou (and sparing us the Mouberries) is a good thing!
I had Maisougio shrieking at me about Mouberries on Twitter. Luckily, I was looking down and missed the moment. Both Shigs and I were grateful for that! 🙂
Amen to that one!
Oooooo-weeee! Goals, Goals, Goals! *sings to the music of Mötley Crüe*
The team was lookin good, Im so glad they’re finishing the season strong, no goal shortages…they just need to score like that at home!
and there was no Caceres but….hello Negredo! He’s like a much hotter Michael Phelps & minus the underbite 😛 He didnt even wear that dorky swim cap, chin strap thing this time, a PLUS!
That pic of Mou…*shudders* thank God they blacked out the Mouberries to protect their identities!
what a match!!! it was amaysing! though, poor iker. but i guess since it was negrado who scored…well, that’s ok. missed martin 😦
i continuously forget that sevilla has that guy that kind of looks like yoann…fazio’s his name. he’s pretty cute 🙂 (hint, hint…daily drool:lol: )
deigo needs the dreads back…i miss them 😥
