Sese is suspended for the match. Iker and Dudek get a rest. Sami, Kaka and Gago are injured. I guess Xabi is feeling better but I wonder if he will start? It’s nice to see Tomy Mejias and Jesus getting called up. Adan kept clean sheets the last two times he was in goal, so let’s hope that he does it again!
The wonderful unamadridista transcribed the whole Cristiano interview from Real Madrid TV and it’s a great read – very heartwarming. He sounds like a sweetheart and so different than how he is portrayed in the press. The effort and sacrifice that he put in at such a young age and his homesickness was very moving. He’s obviously very close to his family. On a side note, the interviewer relating the story of Iker Casillas wandering around Madrid with a cardboard box over his head with eye holes cut in it is hilarious! Thank you so much for this, una!
Bummer of the week: The Philadelphia Union’s website says that they are playing in Seattle on Saturday, July 23. That’s the date Marca said Real Madrid was playing in Philly. Not sure what the issue is but I guess we will just have to wait until one of the two teams officially confirms it on their website. On July 3o RM will be playing in Leceister, England so it’s going to have to be before that. Argh. I hope it’s not during the week or it’s going to be a major issue for me to get away. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!

I’m guessing that they’re coming, but I’m betting that Marca got the date wrong. Una posted that they said the date was July 17 for one of the Cali dates and it was actually confirmed for the 16th by the team. I’m really, really hoping that it’s only a day off or their Seattle date is changed. It was so perfect for it to be on a Saturday. We’re planning on bringing a whole group of people down if it’s on the weekend.
