The Daily Drool: Niko Kranjčar

Attacking midfielder/winger Niko has been playing for Tottenham Hotspur since 2009. He started his career in 2001 with Dinamo Zagreb and became their youngest captain at age 17.  He moved on to Hajduk Split (2004-2006), Portsmouth (2006-2009).  He started with the Croatian U16 team in 2000 and moved through the ranks up to the senior team in 2004, where he remains. His father Zlatko was also a footballer, playing for Rapid Vienna and is a former manager of the Croatian National Team.

    Niko is one of my favorites. He has been so poorly utilized this season. Red Nap would only put him on in the closing minutes of matches, and on more than one occasion has sealed a victory for the team. His match fitness has certainly suffered due to lack of playing time. I hope to see him go where he will play full time.
