Die Mannschaft Goodies!

1 Jun

Super duper awesome watishista! Jenny Jenkins kindly provided us with some adorbs Die Mannschaft training shots and also 2 completely incredible promo spots that they made in support of the German Women’s National Team. If you weren’t madly in love with them before, you will be now…

As Jenny said “Well, there is a long list of things no one will ever accuse the German lads of after this – a lack of political correctness, for example, acting skill, zeal in promoting their women teammates – you name it.  Indeed, no one will ever accuse the DFB of not being the most politically correct sporting organization on earth. For a similarly painful (if somewhat Mesut-less and Beckenbauer-full) viewing experience (see video below)“:

Okay, I am so crazy in love with them. They’re not afraid to make total fools out of themselves to support the women and it’s so damn refreshing! Total class. And hot, hot Lira (my new girl crush) is in there too. Bliss!

I didn’t want to love them as much as I do, but then I went ass over teakettle for them during the World Cup (esp. since my Azzurri were so disappointing). They’re just so young and exciting and fresh.

They are so lovable it hurts – and so genuinely sweet natured and completely drama-free. I remember Oliver Bierhoff mentioning to the press that the current crop of adorable youngsters don’t even throw their jerseys on the floor after matches or practice – they fold them and leave them on the bench! And no one had asked them to do it – they did it without thinking!

That little detail just got me – a bunch of sweet-natured adorable boys, folding up their stuff for the kit-master to look after so he wouldn’t have too much to do!

If it helps, the French National team is VERY popular in parts of Germany. And it seems to be Mesut’s favourite team (aside from his own, of course) because he admired the players who won in ’98 so much.

So are we all in agreement about Lira Bajramaj being Mesut’s perfect woman in the perfect fantasy world we would all create for him – married with two adorable children – one boy, one girl – to the world woman player of the year, a world player of the year award for him, a European Championship for both of them, a World Cup for both of them, a couple of trebles – and two perfect children who will grow up to emulate their parents in both teams?

No pressure there or anything! Still, seems like a perfectly reasonable fantasy.

Totally… Now, how to convince them… (Although I don’t see why either should need any convincing!!!)

    • headbandsandheartbreak June 2, 2011 at 8:50 pm #

      That would be perfection!

She needs to be added to the glossary at some point this summer (with the World Cup coming up) – something along the lines of: “a player of unusual elegance and style. Wrote her autobiography at age 22. In an ideal world, every watishista’s perfect match for Mesut Ozil.”

i love love lira. but i would much rather prefer a nagore-like partner for mesut. mesut and lira would hardly see each other… and it’ll be another 10 years before they can have the perfect family. but they would look beautiful together in the stands at games and working the red carpet.
