Yummy Boy is Yummy, Speeding Benz and Please, Rosell, Shut Up

16 Jun

The Real Madrid photographers surprised the hell out of me by putting a flattering picture of Mesut on the front page this morning. Will wonders never cease?

And another inside! What gives?! Did they hire someone new? That can be the only explanation for the lack of pointing, powder, looking in a mirror (or video camera) and thumbs up action. Anyhow, the article tells us that my boo was the field player with the most appearances this season. Who knew? (Well, apparently the statisticians, but…)

Karim Benzema was a very naughty boy late last night in Ibiza  when he was fined for racing his Porsche against a Ferrari and a Lamborghini in the city center. He paid the $350 (250 Euro) fine in cash on the spot. Nice First World problems you got there, Benz.  He was determined to not have been drinking, so I guess at least there’s that. Grow the fuck up, dude.

Barca president Sandro Rosell made a statement about Real Madrid today. Seriously, dude, please shut up. Constantly harping about this continues to fuel the problems. Let’s start fresh with the Supercopa okay? I don’t understand what the problem is, it’s like continually picking off a scab. It seems like he can’t help himself. Both sides need to STFU and play football. We need to move forward. I do not want a repeat of the El Clasico shitfest of last season. I just can’t stand it. So, please, for the love of all that’s holy, SHUT UP. Everyone. Thanks.

Okay, now that my little rant is over, here’s a picture of Jailbait! when he was at Racing Santander to cleanse the palate. I’m just going to look at The (inappropriately aged) Pretty until my blood pressure returns to normal.

canales could be on america’s next top model with that hairdo.

porsche vs ferrari vs lamborghini. is this a parallel universe where childhood dreams/toys come to life?

Tyra would probably try to bleach his eyebrows and make him an “ice blonde” to give him a high fashion edge. (WTF is her obsession with doing that to poor innocent girls?)

Footballers and their boy toys really get on my nerves. Hearing about them drag racing their luxury cars made me want to give ’em all a good slap upside the head. Ugh.

if you ask me they sabotage some models with the make overs and styling. tyra used to be such a sweet heart on her talk show.

i think benz’s girlfriend is pretty cute. the only part that disgusted me was that all red suit she wore once when they were out shopping once. what was that.

Barcelona’s president disgusts me. Real Madrid have dropped the whole Clasico incident and are going on their lives like civilized people while Barcelona are still jabbering at anyone who will listen, while ironically accusing Madrid of lack of respect. So pathetic. Ugh.

“And I say like… why so obsessed? ”

I love how whole RM is on vacation and yet there must be someone stirring up the shit. I could make a very long rage-post about that statement but since our boys are chillin out I’ll follow their lead and watch GoT with cold cider and won’t bother.

  4. kfunk2 June 16, 2011 at 12:39 pm #

oh, god, jailbait’s really taking his whole nickname to new levels here! he looks out of place without his retainer and brown-bag lunch in that picture.

    • headbandsandheartbreak June 16, 2011 at 1:09 pm #

In all fairness, he probably was about 19 in that picture, possibly younger. He just looks waaaaaaaay younger. I just want to mug him for his lunch money. I can’t help it.

    Cry me a river, Rosell.

This statement really irks me. Especially in point number seven. Taking something as harmless as a voiced desire to win a Champions League final and turning it into more of the same crap that has been going on on both sides – whining.

And the absolute NERVE of him to spout off about what “many Madrid fans prefer”?? I’ll tell you what we prefer, sir…for you and your club to shut your trap and bring it next season on the field

Can’t agree more on the case of Rosell. I never thought I’d say it, but- bring back Laporta! Well, I’m not entirely sure about that. Better idea- appoint me president of my fine club and I’ll do a far better job of not pissing off my OWN fans, let alone anyone else. I would like to say though- Rosell’s statement wasn’t *about* Real, it just *included* Real. In any case, he needs to shut his mouth. I still hear jibes from both sides here, but that’s all. If the fans want to argue, leave them to it. For people who actually have a place in the club (and the president, no less) to start the shit-slinging fest again… Urgh, it just makes me want to curl back up into a ball. I thought we were all past it.

Don’t get me wrong, there are some things that Rosell said that I agree with (a rare occurrence, that) but there’s no need for him to start again. We did enough talking at Wembley, so leave it Sandro, please and thank you. It’d be sad if relations between the clubs truly were called off. Even if I can’t stand Real (no offence! :P) it’s just ridiculous to break everything off.

So yeah, I say, the past is the past and it should be left there. Both sides shouldn’t ever mention anything from this God awful series of Clasicos and we should just appreciate the football. I don’t know why that’s so hard for the grown men of both sides to understand…

    • headbandsandheartbreak June 16, 2011 at 1:07 pm #

None taken, Dylan. You know we love you in all your cule splendor here. :-)(And of course, I hope you love us back) I’m with you, everyone needs to move the fuck past this. Ugh. I just can’t go back to that horrible, horrible month of anger and hatred (and may it be said), shit football. All the drama takes away from the game. They all need to just STFU and play. Period. Every time it starts to die down someone starts it back up again. How are things ever going to get back to normal-ish?

      • Dylan June 16, 2011 at 1:13 pm #

Of course, you guys are lovely! Matter of fact, there’s a large Real fan base here in Barcelona and the majority of them are lovely people (except during that April madness. We were all irritable then…). It’s just the few that give the group a bad name, same for the culés.

It should be said loud and clear about the shit football. I can only pick out a couple of moments during April of really decent football and those are Ronaldo’s header for the Copa del Rey trophy (I might have hated it, but it was a heck of a header) and Leo Messi’s brilliance for the second goal in the first leg of the CL.

I say, every time anyone from either side opens their mouth, we all stick our fingers in our ears and make exceptionally loud “la la la la la!” noises. They might get the hint that we don’t want to hear it 😉

        • headbandsandheartbreak June 16, 2011 at 1:33 pm #

I have quite a few cule friends too – we have a relationship of genial shit talking but none of the aggressive nonsense you see with some fans. All of us were appalled by what went down in April. We may not have agreed on all the points, but we definitely agreed that football (and the fans) suffered and we never want to see anything like that again.

And I agree with you, those were the two best moments. Messi’s goal was gorgeous and Crissy’s header was a classic.

I think we ‘re going to have to do what you and Ciotog suggested especially to get through the frigging Supercopa. Or as I suggested yesterday, make them settle their bullshit with a dance off in Ibiza and then just start fresh. I wonder who would take the prize in a Sandro/Florentino dance off? 😉 Flo looks like he could break it down like someone’s drunk uncle at a wedding, doesn’t he?

          • emily June 18, 2011 at 1:57 am #

actually, with the drunk auntie, don’t you think? he’s got a naughty side, just like any highly paid, old guard executive. the champagne makes him all goofy…

  7. Ciotog June 16, 2011 at 1:13 pm #

I’m just putting my fingers in my ears lalalalala with regards to the real-barca shit stirring. Build a bridge people. Its the summer- a time when ballers are freed from under armour and sent to the beach to cheer us up and ruin all normal men!

I must admit i’m a little bit devastated that Jail bait isn’t an the u21 eurocopa. I love the forbidden bromance that is Bojio. He would be right at home with all of the underage pretty- Javi(!!!), Thiago, Mata etc. For the hottest National Team the future is in safe and very pretty hands!!

    • headbandsandheartbreak June 16, 2011 at 1:27 pm #

I’m with you. We need to ignore this shit and just focus on the beach photos. Oooh, I love Bojio too. The future El Roja is going to be blistering hot.

  8. Anonymous June 16, 2011 at 2:29 pm #

no mention of the disgusting looking chica with benze???

    • headbandsandheartbreak June 16, 2011 at 2:58 pm #

Do you mean the woman on the beach with him in the white bikini top that was pictured in the Mail? She doesn’t look disgusting as far as I can see and I think that’s Audley, his gf. Also, I tend to try to avoid tearing other women down. Society does enough of that, thank you very much.

  9. Laryssa June 16, 2011 at 6:29 pm #

I always ignore everything Rossell says because I don’t really respect him. I know he loves Barça and all, but I get the impression that he is just a lucky guy that inherited a spectacular and amazing (and maybe legendary) team that he doesn’t really deserves. I don’t think he would have the courage to fight for his team as Laporta – despite his latent lack of class and inexplicable hate for Real Madrid – did in his time. And to make everything worse, Rossell has zero charisma, an obligatory characteristic in every self-respecting Troll. See Mourinho, Xavi and even Laporta as examples. All Trolls, all super charismatics.

    * There was a time when I thought Mesut so weird looking. Now, when I remember that time, I just can’t believe myself. Today, I think he is the cutest lovely looking boy in face of earth. This team brainwashes me…

    • headbandsandheartbreak June 16, 2011 at 11:30 pm #

Oooh, I like you. You’ve got some interesting viewpoints! You’re right – if you’re going to be controversial, you’d damn well better be charismatic.

Mesut is love. Pure and simple. 🙂

  10. maddy June 16, 2011 at 9:38 pm #

madrid responded, and i love its statement. short, simple, and only addressing certain accusations.
