The bingo game we’ve all been waiting for happened today, which means training starts in less than a week. Whooooo! We face our first opponent of the season, Athletic Bilbao, the weekend of August 20-21, which also happens to be the wedding weekend of watishistas! shiggers and ginboonmiller so it’s gonna be DVR time for us, well, depending on game time! As far as La Liga goes, we won’t play Barca until December 11 and April 22. However, we do have to play them in the Spanish Super Copa. The first leg takes place at Santiago Bernabeu on August 14th with the second leg happening on August 17th at Camp Nou. I just well and truly want those Clasicos over with as soon as possible and I hope everyone fucking behaves themselves this time. One can hope, right? I just want to see some great football from two excellent sides. Fingers crossed.

i was so excited when i saw this yesterday. the season is approaching!!! YEA!!!!
bilbao is an excellent, difficult test at the beginning of the season. plus we have the sevilliano derby that weekend. so make sure to set the dvr for that one as well 😉
Yes absolutetly!! What a “welcome back” for Betis! Their first game back in the Primera and it’s a derby against their biggest rivals! I hope Betis kick butt!!! And I’m soooo glad that they’re back. They play exciting, attacking football, have incredible fans (even when they were in the Liga Adelante, each home game was sold out and Beticos at away games sometimes outnumbered the home fans –just watch the game against BabyBarca) the team is totally bankrupt and the players could get paid more any where else, but they still choose to stay for Betis because they have passion for the team (Just ask Miguel Lopes). I’ll always be a Madridista but Betis have a special place in my heart 🙂
Ooh, facing Villarreal, Valencia, Atleti, Barca, and Sevilla in the span of 8 games (especially considering we’ll probably be participating in some tournaments then, and Sporting isn’t exactly a piece of cake for us) isn’t going to be pleasant. But with our deeper squad I think we’ll be okay. I’m so excited!!!
