Bits and Bobs: Cesc, Iker and Pipita

6 Jul

Oh Cesc!

I have a few left over pictures so I thought I’d just throw them all into a post so we can look at some pretty boys right before bedtime (well, it’s my bedtime). Guaranteed to give you sweet dreams. Photo credits at the end of the post.

"Cesc? What the hell are you doing up there?"

"Why does he get to have all the fun? I've been working all vacation!"

"Hmmm, being the captain means big responsibility. Sigh."

Poor Iker! Heavy is the head that wears the crown. At least he had some beach time in Brazil and his barbecue in Navalcruz. He’s also going to stick around China until the 10th to see the sights. But that’s still not much of a break for our hardworking captain.

Pipita was looking hot, hot, hot in a series of photos that need no captioning so I’m gonna just lay ’em right on you. Enjoy the Higuain hotness.

    Hello girls,
I wonder if you are following the Copa America or plan to do a post about it. Here in Brazil, we are almost obliged to follow because the major newspapers talk about the Copa all the time. But if you are not following, you are not losing anything, btw. The first games were the worst in the history of the competition: 7 games, 5 draws and only 8 goals. The major candidates for the title are very disappointing, including Brazil and our hated and beloved nemessis, Argentina.
But from time to time we can see a flash of Pipita, so gorgeous and sexy, and this can make the worst game an enjoyable experience. 😀

    * I really dislike the guy, but I have to admit that Messi is in deep sh*t in Argentina. The entire country seems to hate him and his complete lack of charisma and sympathy aren’t helping him at all.

      Hey there –

I have to admit, I have only been nominally following the Copa America and probably won’t be doing anything on it (so sorry!). I’m struggling to keep up with the blog between work, school and recovering from surgery. It seems to be not going all that well for sure. I’m not a Messi hater at all. I think he’s a brilliant player, but it’s pretty obvious that he’s not bringing that magic to the national team. I was aghast when I saw that missed penalty kick from the other day. Just the worst. It’s obvious that he is beyond miserable and stressed. I feel really bad for him. It’s got to suck knowing that everyone wants your head on a plate. He’s not used to that hatred – he should call Cris up for some tips on how to deal with it and still play well. 😉

I think it clearly illustrates the importance of the team as opposed to the individual player – he performs like a genius when he’s in tandem with his Barca squad, but not so much with his national team.

I’ll try to post some more Pipita pix though!

About Messi situation, I agree with you in parts. I understand the collective is essential, but I also think that when the collective doesn’t work, the “special” players must to assume the responsibility. As Zidane did in the 2006 World Cup, when he, practically alone, carried his NT to the final. Or Romario, in 1994, when he turned Brazil into World Cup champion after 24 years. Or Maradona, in 1986…

In the Messi case, the issue goes far beyond sports. Argentines are a very passionate and proud people and, although no one doubts that Messi is one meter and a half of pure talent, they question his (lack of) desire to defend his NT. I think he doesn’t feel comfortable with this new group and misses Xavi/Iniesta and all the daily pampering of Pep. I hope he learn how to handle the situation, but preferably not in this Copa America, nor in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil … 😉

        * I think I must have missed something… Are you recovering from surgery?! And you are updating this blog every single day?!!! :O Wow, you are a superwoman!! Fast recovery for you and get better soon. Kisses. 🙂

Oh, Pipita, if you’re still having back problems, I’d be happy to play the role of masseuse.
