…so I’m headed off to the city named for it. Let’s hope it brings some extra special bromancing. It’s 10:00 AM and already 90 degrees. Ugh. The only positive thing about this heat is that for once, Iker may not wear Under Armor and if that happens, my camera will certainly be ready. Here are the boys checking into the Ritz Carlton. I see Fabio has, sadly, not lost that hat yet and The Ramos, in tribute to American frat boys everywhere, has opted for a backwards baseball cap style. Lovely homage, sir! Lots of hardy Madridistas were out last night to welcome the boys.
unamadridista has more pictures and video over on her site. Nobody does it better, so go and have a look. Well, it’s pretty much time for me to get my act together. Gotta run some quick errands before I gather my girls and head out. Let’s hope we survive the heat and the fact that this trip is serving as the combo birthday/bachelorette party for watishista! shiggers. Let’s hope we don’t get heat stroke, arrested or both. We’ll be back tomorrow undoubtedly with many tales to tell (and this time, I’ll tell them)! HALA MADRID!
Safe trip Lozil! And to all the Watishistas heading to Philly!!
We’re going to miss you so much! WAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I know you and Sergio have that secret rendezvous planned (nice “back pains” excuse you came up with, girl!) so I’m happy for you!
::gasp:: OMG! I wasn’t supposed to tell the world about that, was I? 😉
Im gonna miss you guys too!! 😦 Have an amaysing time, as Iker would say haha
Oh well this is HB&HB, bringing breaking news to Watishista’s since…Jan ’11 lol 😛
Have a great time….the city of brotherly love my arse though. I’ve encountered some of the rudest sports fans there ever. Hopefully you will encounter none of them
I’m pretty confident that we can take ’em if they try. 🙂
Seriously – Philly fans have actually booed and thrown snowballs at Santa Claus.
I met some that were…unpleasant, to say the least and heard tales that were much worse than mine. But there are arseholes everywhere. I’m sure there are some super sweet Union fans. We did meet some nice people.
its times like these that i feel like i was born in the wrong country
We’ll miss you too, Maddy! I wish everyone could be there with us. But look at it this way, at least you don’t have to sit there in over 100 degree heat, right?
ahhh…when i was in pakistan we were treated to 8 months a year of over 40 deg C with peaks of 50 deg c!!! its monsooning in SL now, love it! make sure you super drool all over mesut tonight…dont miss the opportunity!
I hope I can stay hydrated enough to produce drool! I’ll try to get some good Mesut shots for you.
YOU GOT TO SEE OZIL SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did! I risked brain melt but it was 100% worth it. HE WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I squealed for both of us. 🙂
ooo thanks… i think that would have been the point where i invaded the pitch and flung myself at him. 😀
Do you know if they are going straight to the airport after the game? How would I go about “following” them?
According to una, they’re heading straight to the airport post-game. As for following them, I have no clue – I’m not much for that sort of thing. I guess you would have to head out straight after the game and take a guess as to where to find them in the airport. Doesn’t sound feasible with post-game traffic and security. If you’re hell bent on meeting them, your best bet would be to hang out at the Ritz Carlton. They have to leave at some point in the evening to head to the stadium. Undoubtedly there will be other fans there who will have the scoop.
Have a great trip and enjoy the game! I’m lloking forward to some first hand impressions of the boys 🙂
Hope you survive the heat – maybe you could send some sun and warmth my way? Northern Europe is freezing, feels almost like November here 😦
I wished I was in Northern Europe on Saturday. Or that I could have taken the hotel swimming pool to the match with me. That would have made life so much more tolerable. It was brutal.
I can imagine, it looked aweful in the pictures.
But I still need to whine about the weather here – 15 degrees Celsius (that’s 59 Fahrenheit according to my converter) and rain for three weeks straight is simply NOT acceptable in July!
Yay!! I hope you all have fun!!! Make sure you take along a portable drainage system for all the drool. 😉
But please, PLEASE kidnap the boys, for all of us! Or at least chase them around the pitch 😀 Pweease??? As a birthday present?? 😀 Haha, for the first time I really appreciate the massive time difference since it means that the boys with be playing on the next day, which is my birthday *happy dance*
Happy belated birthday! I’m sorry I didn’t get to snag any of the boys for you or chase them around. I was busy having a heat related breakdown. But I chased them for you in my head, oh yes I did! 😉
