Can’t We All Just Get Along?

14 Aug

Today is the first leg of the Supercopa.  El Clasico is always fraught with peril, but let’s hope that today (and the second leg) are filled with brilliant football and the good sportsmanship that we know our teams are capable of. Make us proud, gentlemen – all of you!

I love that the little Madridista woobins has a fashion statement headband on. These things start early when you love Madrid apparently. I bet if we check back on him in 15 years, he’ll be sporting green jeans and a Louis Vuitton man bag. Bless. And enjoy that height advantage now, Barca baby, because if things stay true to form, you’re going to stay rather wee (unless you’re the progeny of Pique). You’re both adorable just the way you are.

So Madridista and Cule alike, let’s join hands and sing Kumbaya today or at least try not to throw any punches or harsh words. We’re better than that, eh?  Let’s just hope for a great game! Hala Madrid/Visca Barca depending on your preference (or both as I know some of you are bi-team-ual).

Oh gosh, I just want to squeeze the wee Madridista’s cheek. And look at that chubby hand! Too cute! 🙂

@Anna, Mari says it will air at 4am PHL time on tve…I hope she’s right so we don’t have to live stream the match. Put on the coffee!

Big oops! Found out there’s TVE1, TVE2. TVE3. I have one TVE, unfortunately, it’s the culture TVE.

They are both such yummy little woobies!

True Madridista (or maybe Watishta) — always attracted to the cutie pies!

Your post had me in stitches! “…enjoy that height advantage now, Barca baby…” brilliant! And true!

Is anyone else getting dangerously obsessed with the word ‘woobins’?

Here! Here! Good on you for the adorible olive branch. You all may remember me one of those bi-team-uals, silly me. It’s a lot of work to love them both and plays hell on my nerves 😛

I did a review of last year and a prediction for this season.

It’s going to be a close people!

Hey, there’s a lot of you bi-team-uals here – time to come out of the closet and be proud. This is a safe space to wear both your team scarves. It’s not an easy path you’ve chosen, but I’ll kick the arse of anyone who says it’s not a valid one. -) Even though I’m a Madridista, it’s not my place to tell you to choose, nor should anyone else. Looking forward to reading your piece, but first, I have to get a pedicure. In my Ozil jersey. Getting ready for this wedding is very time consuming, people! (BTW, I just got a killer Ralph Lauren dress which I just realized is in Real Madrid blue – it was NOT intentional. I totally changed my mind about what I was going to wear at the last minute and freaked that I needed something else). Holy crap! I had an attack of the girlies. It happens sometimes – I am a complex kinda lady. Back to the regularly scheduled programming.

Real Madrid blue is a lovely color. I’m sure you will look outstanding in it! Thanks for backing us people who refuse to choose. Hell of a good game for us this time too, for a change. Though I did a lot of yelling at the telley and shaking my head in my Spain jersey. Ah well, no all we can do is hold our breathes until Wed.

Good luck with the wedding prep!

Well hello there! Long time no talk! 😉 I’m in Tenerife now, after visiting Barcelona and the rest of Catalonia 🙂 Oooh, guess who got given a signed RM scarf by her hero (Karim) when home in Madrid! :DD
I’ll be wearing it tonight along with my Villa Jersey! (Still with the RM pin of course! 😉 )
Have fun watching! Hala Madrid/Visca Barca!

Thank you for welcoming us cules into the watishista fold. Although, the more I learn about football, the more bi-team-ual I become.

P.S. I cut my hair short-ish this weekend and had to buy some little elastic headbands to keep it back. Maybe The Ramos has some web tutorials I can watch on how to sport them correctly. 😉 Wa-tish!!!

  8. cisarovna August 14, 2011 at 7:40 pm #

Hello! I just starting reading your lovely blog. What is an watishista? Apologies for my ignorance.

No worries – we all have to start somewhere and we’re happy you joined us! We have a HB & HB Glossary, Manifesto and About Us page that will explain a lot of the odd little terms that you see mentioned here. There is also a link to our Twitter. These pages are always available in the right hand navigation of the page. Enjoy! 🙂

just as long as you realize that Barca will eventually take that boy away because he once wore a Barca jersey (even if he played 8 years for another club)

  10. Allison August 15, 2011 at 12:49 am #

  13. Suzanne August 15, 2011 at 8:43 am #

Oh my gosh… You know how much I love you for this post! 😉 There really ARE others who love them both! And to have such a safe, encouraging place to visit and share… I was nervous as hell, but so happy with the result. 4 beautiful, non-pk goals and… OZIL SCORED!!! That made my night just 12 minutes into the game. After that I could accept anything that happened. Here’s a pic of my kids I took before the game in an effort to promote good-will.
