Taking Tomorrow Off…

10 Sep

Maisougio and I just had a little talk and we decided that we would take tomorrow off. On such a somber day, we didn’t feel comfortable being flippant and pervy. We just posted The Daily Drool early (Alex Morgan) and the match report will be up on Monday along with any other stories. Feel free to come here, enjoy the posts and make comments – we’re just not going to do any new posts tomorrow.

I was living here in NYC on that horrible day a decade ago and it’s something that changed me, this city and our lives irrevocably.  And the repercussions of that day rippled out and affected so many others around the world.  Maisougio and I are hoping – and praying – that tomorrow is a day of peace, remembrance and safety for everyone.

Love, Lozil xo

Be safe! The effort to keep the city safe has truly been more than I could have imagined and I think we’re all very grateful to those who do it.

Fair enough. I was living in NYC on that day 10 years ago, so I feel you. Stay safe,

You know exactly where I’m coming from then. The security is super tight here right now – I hope that everything stays quiet.

I think you’ve made the right decision.

The events played a very large part in my decision to join the military. It wasn’t a sense of revenge but a need to stand up for those people who didn’t have a chance to stand up for themselves. It was for the innocent lives… Those lost and those that needed to be protected from loss.

I visit this blog daily and I love it. I love everything you stand for, both pervy and non-pervy. Your acceptance of others and outspoken opinions on equality make my job easy. I am a soldier because of the same reasons you speak about what you believe in. Because someone else either can’t or is too afraid.

My hope is that tomorrow is a day of peace. That it is a day of acceptance. And that it is a day of remembrance. Everyone was affected… Black, white, Asian, Arab, gay, straight, bisexual, man, woman, and child…

    We all will remember

Thank you, Vicki – your words made me cry and I share your hope for peace and acceptance. Most of all thank you for your service and having the courage of your convictions. I have an enormous admiration for those who are brave enough to defend and protect others – soldiers, first responders – you’re all heroes to me. xo

My friend survived 9/11 because she couldn’t find her eyeglasses and was late for work at the WTC. She arrived on the street just as the 2nd plane crashed and had to flee the shower of glass and debris. She kept a few shards of glass that she found in her purse as a memento.

We honor those who perished, those who survived, and those who serve, and those whose lives are forever changed.

Crown thy good with brotherhood, from sea to shining sea.

I hope you’re having a peaceful, restful, stress free day. I’ve been avoiding the media coverage because it makes jumpy. I can’t imagine what it would have been like being there in New York. Peace, love and understanding to you all.
