La Roja Call Ups

7 Nov

Greetings from Denver. I managed to screw up my wake up call and arrived for my 6:3o AM meeting at 5:30 AM. Classic. But it does allow me a few minutes to post an update. The Spanish National Team call ups for the matches with England and Costa Rica have been announced.

Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas, Pepe Reina, Víctor Valdés.

Defenders: Sergio Ramos, Raúl Albiol, Álvaro Arbeloa, Gerard Piqué, Carles Puyol, Jordi Alba, Nacho Monreal.

Midfielders: Cesc Fabregas, Xavi, Andrés Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, Xabi Alonso, Javi Martínez, Juan Mata, Santi Cazorla, David Silva, Jesús Navas.

Forwards: David Villa, Fernando Llorente, Fernando Torres.

They report on Thursday morning. Bring on the Sernando! P.S. What do all of you think about unamadridista talking about discontinuing her blog? I’m absolutely gutted. She’s amazing and no one really compares. It’s going to leave a real void in the RM community. Truly, no one does it better. If you have a moment, stop over and leave her a note of support. Even if she does decide to stop, then at least she will know how important her blog has been to all of us and we can thank her for that.

Una has been so gracious in opening up her world to us. I, too, would be gutted if she were to discontinue posting. But, everything runs it’s course. She must be at that point, I guess. It’s not like a job that she is being paid to be there everyday to put out this kind of work, which it truly must be. I applaud her past efforts and hope that she finds a way that makes her happy, whether it’s a daily post, a weekly rant, a monthly update, or nothing at all, ever again. 😦 I will really miss her stuff when she does end up pulling the plug.
Someday, this blog, too, will end up in the same situation. We will all just have to know how to say Thank You and move on to our next happy place. Both blogs have been a first stop for me. I really appreciate the work you guys do to spread the love and the delightful diversion they offer from all the rest of life’s crap is priceless.

I hope she doesn’t close her blog down. She does a fantastic job, she always has soooo much detail on the team there.

Both this blog and hers are my favorite! I am going to go and leave her a message!
