On To 2012

31 Dec

The boys had their last practice of the year today and then apparently scattered. Sergio tweeted this photo of himself (I had to lighten it up a bit, it was way too dark) and said he was spending the holiday with his family in Seville.

Iker posted a piccy of himself with friend Nikola Loncar (retired Serbian basketball player) and said they were enjoying some Serbian food. Today, he posted this shot of him with his “illustrious neighbor” Arturo in Navalcruz (BTW, he and Sara apparently bought a house there). I loved the translation so I had to post it as well.

Yep Iker, I’m always saying “Force violin!” Well, I wasn’t before, but I sure as hell will now. Someone cuts me off in traffic? “Force violin!”  I see a hot dude pass me on the street? “Force violin!”  I get a large post-holiday credit card bill? “Force violin!” I eat a killer piece of pie? “Force violin!” Yeah, that phrase is gonna come in hella handy in 2012. I’m gonna try to make it happen just like “fetch.” (Sorry, I love Mean Girls).  It’s gonna be the new “Hala Madrid”, y’all. A hug young, crony! Ikerlish makes life worth living.

Nike has a new campaign for 2012 with the slogan “Make it count.” They used our lovely Mesut and Sami to illustrate it.

Worthy spokesmodels, to be sure, but couldn’t they have picked better shots of them? They are two yummy guys – why did they have to pick ones where their mouths are hanging open and they looked stunned by blunt objects? I mean, Mesut came off better than Sami, but seriously, Nike? Well, it could be worse. It could be like Puma’s hatchet job on Cesc.

Everyone have a wonderful New Year’s Eve (I know some of you are already into 2012). I’m going to take a nap now. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
