Catching Up Before Sociedad

24 Mar

Quite a bit to catch up on since I was slacking yesterday. I left work and had a couple hours to kill before I met JOD & Dollo for dinner. It was a gorgeous day so I walked from my office near Battery Park through Tribeca, over into Chinatown, Little Italy, Soho, the East Village and finally, the Lower East Side. I stopped into my fave shops along the way and just enjoyed having the leisure to do things. About a bazillion mojitos later (with great food and even better company), I stumbled home and slept like a log. Bliss! Onto to the footy stuff! Here’s the boys arriving for the closed training yesterday. I see Sergio has gotten himself a new purple jacket and matching purple bag! ::snort:: Ever coordinated, our Sese.

And then it was time for concentracion. Off to the Mirasierra Suites on the Evil Bunny bus. Do you think the folks at the MS are totally bored with seeing Los Blancos? Are they like “Ugh, I had to clean Sergio Ramos’ hair out of the drain again. I wish he’d cut that shit off.” or “I walked in on another Strip Parchis game. Gawd, those guys are so boring and geez, put some pants on!”

More bus pictures ahead, this time as the boys headed off to do their pre-match stretchies at Valdebebas. Again, grumpiness and poor photo angles are the norm. Must be Saturday.

Okay, I don’t mind that angle so much. Well done for a change, Real Madrid photographers!  I approve. More booty please!

Mourinho & Real Madrid have maintained The Silence since Wednesday’s match/clusterfuck vs. Villareal. It’s kinda sucked for social media fun. No Albiolita flirting. No Pony/pony pictures. Young Jese did post this shot with Marcelo and Cris.

Speaking of Muppet Babies, Enzo Zidane turns 17 today. Hard to believe, isn’t it? We’ll have to add him to next year’s Muppet Baby Week.

Oh, before I forget, The Powers That Be rejected all of Real Madrid’s appeals. The fines/bans stand as follows:

Pepe – Suspended: 2 games, Fines: 180€ club/600€ player
Mou – Suspended: 1 game, Fines: 90€ club/600€ coach
Özil – Suspended: 1 game, Fines: 90€ club/ 600€ player
Rui Faria – Suspended: 2 games, Fines: 180€ club/600€ coach

A few other quick bits and bobs: Marcelo got his own Mercurials and showed them off. Melon boots here we come!

And finally, the Pepsi Kick In The Mix commercial is out. Oh Nando, you need a couple of acting lessons there, but you’re still adorable.

Let’s get out there and kick some major arse, Los Blancos! We believe in you and know that you will be absolutely spectacular. HALA MADRID!

– Lozil

A bazillion is the only acceptable quantity of mojitos.

Agreed. The bar bill was three times the food bill and we had A LOT of food. 🙂

You’ve given me a great idea! When I get laid off from my teaching job, I’ll move to Spain & work at the Mirra Sierra Suites! There’s got to be a market for The Ramos’ drain hair. 😉

The boys must have permanent room assignments in the Mirasierra Suites, probably with their names engraved on brass labels on the doors. If ever I visit Madrid I’m booking a room in the MS and will stalk the hallways!

*sigh* Sergio just has to have the satisfaction of knowing that he matched parts of his purple outfit even when he KNOWS he’ll have to change into uniform later 😆

God bless Arbeloa for taking off his shirt after today’s match. Wow. 🙂

Your day sounded lovely! I hate being stuck in the burbs!

Those boots are fugly. What is with Nike and their horrible use of color? See also Barca’s awful away jerseys.
