Proceeds will go to projects organised by the Realmadrid Foundation and Rafa Nadal Foundation

The pitch at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium will turn into a tennis court on 14 July for a charity match between Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic. It will be organised by the Realmadrid Foundation and the Rafa Nadal Foundation, hoping to gather a record 80,000+ crowd and collect proceeds for projects developed by both foundations.

The Realmadrid Foundation and the Rafa Nadal Foundation share a will to help the needy and give children a chance with educational programmes that use sports as a tool with which to achieve social integration.

The Realmadrid Foundation is the embodyment of the club’s social compromise. It promotes sports, teaches values such as hard work and solidarity, supports social integration and consolidates development projects in countries throughout the world, therefore contributing to enhance the prestige of Real Madrid in Spain and the rest of the world.

The Rafa Nadal Foundation was created in November 2007. It arose from the desire of the tennis pro and his family to help socially discriminated children and teenagers who run the risk of social exclusion. Officially presented in 2008, the foundation has worked on several projects with the Fundacion Vicente Ferrer, Special Olympics España and Aldeas Infantiles SOS. 🙂 I’ll make a big ol’ donation to the charities in question if we can convince Rafa not to show up to watch the Clasico in person. Every time he does, things don’t work out for us. Stay home, Rafa! Please! 😉

Oh yes, please, I’ll add my money. However, I read on a Russian page that the ref for the Clásico will be the one from CdR final, which equals to the only one we won last years. Good sign?

Ah, that does sound like a better omen! I still want Rafa to stay home! Just to be safe.
