Cristiano Ronaldo: “I expect the Bernabeu crowd to score our first goal against Bayern”

“The crowd has to play the most important role as soon as we step onto the pitch because we can feel it; things will turn out well for us if we stand united”
Cristiano Ronaldo analysed Wednesday’s return leg of the semifinals against Bayern Munchen for Bwin.com.
“I expect the Bernabeu to score the first goal. The crowd has to play the most important role as soon as we step onto the pitch because we can feel it. Things will turn out well if we stand united. It will be a decisive match and we players are more confident when we feel the affection of our supporters. We feel we can do even better.”
“The match will be a battle to the very end. It will be charged with adrenaline and we are excited about playing a clash we know we have to win. Bayern are also a great side and we’re aware they will be a tough opponent. We lost 2-1 against them in the first leg and we have to win at home in a crucial game. We know winning would give us a ticket to the final.”
“What happened in Munich was neither positive nor negative. We’re in good form and I’m sure we’ll win at home because we’ll have the support of our fans. It will be a difficult match but I’m hopeful. They defeated us at their stadium, but we managed to score an away strike. They will try to score through counterattacks, but we believe they’ll also be wary of us given that we’ll face them at our stadium.”
“We’re more concerned about Bayern’s forwards. Gomez is one of the Champions League’s top scorers, and Ribery and Robben are also very dangerous. They are solid in attack and also in defence, but we have to focus on their four forwards because one of them will make the difference.”
“I always play the same regardless of my opponents. There may be more adrenaline at times depending on the difficulty of an encounter, but my mentality is always the same.”
“I feel at home at Real Madrid. This is my third season on the team and I try to do my best for this shirt every year. Things are turning out well and I want it to stay this way.”
“I mainly want us to reach the final and face either Chelsea or Barcelona there. I hope we reach the final because it is ivery important to us players, to Real Madrid and to our fans throughout the world. That’s why I’m really happy and thrilled to play the match.”
Cris also has beaten his own single season scoring record with his goal against Barca.

His goal against Barcelona allowed him to break his own 53 strike record from the previous campaign
Cristiano Ronaldo scored one goal against Barcelona and therefore broke his own 53 strike record of the previous campaign, becoming the team’s all-time top scorer in one single season.
Ronaldo is having an incredible run in La Liga. He has currently scored 42 goals in the championship, breaking his own 40 strike record from last year.
So far, Cristiano has netted eight goals in the Champions League, equaling his previous best run from the 2007/08 season when he was still at Manchester United.
Whoooo! Well done, Cris. You’re a goal scoring machine and we’re so glad you’re our goal scoring machine.
Here’s some leftover shots from the boys arriving at Camp Nou. Ah, what a day it was! I’m still smiling!
Another hearty mazel tov goes out to the Muppet Babies of Real Madrid Castilla. According to the RM website: “RM Castilla became the champions of Group I despite losing on the road to Real Oviedo due to Rayo Vallecano B’s win in Lugo. The Whites win their group for the first time in seven years and are one step closer to getting promoted to the second Division.” Predictably, the babies went apeshit. It’s adorable. (Thanks to watishista jellyace for pointing me in this direction even though it took me a day to get in on here!)
Training was closed to the media today but tomorrow, Mou will doing the press conference with El Pirata! Mou usually chooses a starter for the presser, so that’s great news. The training will also be open to the media so we’ll get some photos.
Iker posted this video that was recorded on the way to Valdebebas the day of the Barca match. Can someone translate? I’m sure he said “Ramos” but it might have been “Vamos” ;-)
And finally, who doesn’t enjoy a bit of half naked Sergio? If you are bored of half naked Sergio, you are bored of life! (Photos via GFSports)
