UPDATED: Sergio Sings, Xabi Likes To Watch, Arbeloa Weighs In On Game Of Thrones And Guti Lounges Around In Ibiza

8 May

Surprisingly, it’s not his much wished for (by me) cover of “Let’s Go To The Mall” but Sergio posted this video of himself warbling in the studio with Canelita.

Updated: Here’s a video of the finished song with some in studio shots.

He’s been hanging out in Sevilla for the past couple of days as is evidenced by the pictures of him going out in the evening and of course, to the mall.

Meanwhile, Xabi decided to take up less strenuous pursuits after the last week’s booze fueled hijinks. He decided to watch and photograph some older gentleman intent on their match. His tweet said “A game of chess. The Observer. #now”

It’s a great shot, isn’t it? He also approved of his brother Mikel’s posting of Billy Bragg And Wilco’s  California Stars saying “Top Choice bro” and I have to agree. Great song. Okay, Pirata, Xabi has backed up his indie cred for the morning, what you gonna do? Or are you sprawled somewhere in your loft, sipping espresso, smoking a clove ciggie and deeply immersed in Gary Shteyngart’s Absurdistan while Zola Jesus plays quietly in the background?

Arbeloa played cover model (more on that in a separate p0st) but he also  took a moment to tweet that he loves the tv series Game of Thrones, but there is no way that they could fit in all the details and that the books are better. Fair enough.

If you were wondering what Guti was up to (and quite frankly, who isn’t? It’s usually something very Guti-esque), he spent the weekend lounging around Ibiza with his lady love Romina.

Oh Guti. I despair of you ever getting a real job, but I guess the lottery commercial campaign is a start, right?

Whenever I hear an Enrique Iglesias song on the Muzak system at work, I picture Sergio Ramos. ‘I like how it feels. I like how it feels….’. among others

Aw, what a good citizen Sergio Sparkles is by keeping the local economy churning and encouraging everyone to “Let’s Go to the Mall” — Today!

I am sorry but he should stick to defending & scoring occasional headers, not singing. Again, SORRY

Did Guti shave, or am I just seeing what I want to see?

I think he did trim off the bulk of that nasty billy goat scruff. Thank the deities!

I think Sergio sounds fantastic. He really loves singing in the flamenco style and it works for him. A while ago a video popped up of him singing for friends and I thought he sounded great there too.

Yep, this is within the post (in the compilation video) that I linked in the comments. I think he sounds terrific. He’s got a knack for flamenco.
