Drogs has officially announced on his website that he will be leaving Chelsea. It was also announced on the club’s website.

Tuesday May 22, 2012

After eight seasons with Chelsea, I leave the club with a Champions League success and with great sadness, but even better recognition.
“Even the greatest stories come to an end. My contract is finished and I am now prepared to leave the Blues. It is with great sadness but also with much gratitude that I announce you my departure from Chelsea.

I played my last game for the club in Munich and I am delighted to have finally been able to lift the Champions League trophy after an incredible final. I am sad, even if it is part of the life of a footballer. We have to accept it. Above all, I will remember all the great seasons I have had here, and all the emotions that will remain forever etched in my memory.

Thanks again to all the fans for their tremendous support. I wish the best success to this club where I may come back in the future, but in a different role.
“Blue is the color!””

Chelsea also posted a retrospective of Didier’s time with the club. It’s a loving look back at a singular talent who had a major impact.

Best of luck and a tip of the hat to you, sir. You’re fabulous and I wish you much success in the future.

Updated: Because, of course, we couldn’t omit Kitier Katba’s farewell letter.

How many footballers can say that they stop wars? And build hospitals? And score winning goals? He’s my hero.

What a way to end his time there! Not everyone is that lucky. Wishing him the very best.

Even though he always seemed to take relish in scoring goals against Arsenal, I can only wish him the best. He seems like such a decent guy off the pitch.

Good for him to announce this early and not let himself get dragged to rumor wars. And what a way to end his Chelsea day, this really is dream scenario. Good luck, Didi.
