Don’t Count Italy Out!

1 Jul

We’re going to see a real clash of the titans today. As I’ve said before, I grew up supporting Italy and today’s match is a major wrench of the heart for me. Spain may be the favorite, but I would never ever count Italy out.

You can’t underestimate the wiliness of Pirlo, the experience of Buffon, the smarts of Prandelli, the power of DeRossi and the sheer unpredictable brilliance of Balotelli. Thursday’s match proved that.

Look out! Gigi Buffon will fuck you up. For reals!

I’m looking forward to a tough match with a whole buttload of nail biting suspense. Forza Azzurri! Vamos La Roja! No matter who takes the title, we all win getting to watch two teams with such talent battle it out.

i am heartsick at the mere thought of spain not taking this, but if they don’t come out swinging right from the get-go, it’s going to be ugly. vamoooooooos!

Agreed. We need to come out banging! They’re expecting tiki-taka, we need to show them some force. This is where I really miss David Villa.

So true! We all win watching those two teams go at it. I still think la Roja are the superior team, but the Azzurri have the X factor in Balotelli, the defense of Juve (plus DDR), and of course, Pirlo. I find myself kinda sorta agreeing with what someone else commented (Tania, I think) on another post that if Italy wins, at least all the RM boys across the 3 semi-final teams (fine, add Benz too) can go back to Madrid on (almost) equal footing and comfort each other… haha, is that skewed? Oh well… Forza Azzurri! Vamos La Roja!
