Cibeles, The Pepe Show, and the Afterparty!

3 Jul

A big, big, thank you to Watishista Flora who rocked it out with the translations once again! Thanks to her we get to really enjoy Pepe’s introductions, he’s as hilarious as ever. Enjoy!

This is the kind of stuff that should’ve been happening on the bus! Judging by those white legs, it looks like it’s Iker trying to get Xabi to keep away from the Cruzcampo!

“I want to take this moment to say, YES NANDO, I will have your babies!”

This hour long vid features the whole celebration, from bus to the Pepe show, but the introductions start at the 24th minute.

Intro: Good Night Madrid! Good night Spain, and good night to Europe. First of all I want to thank you all for your support. Especially for the fans who traveled to Poland and Ukraine. We appreciate your support. A huge applause for all the fans who have traveled (to Poland & Ukraine). And a thanks to all these people who make everything easier. We are the ones who play but they are the ones who condition us. They make our jobs easier. A huge applause for them! Ok. Should I present you (speaking to teammates)? A team of Legends! History was written because no one has ever done this in football history. An applause for the Spanish NT! Well let’s see, they have told me to start with the number 2. These players have become legends in Poland and Ukraine.

Albiol

“With the number two, a sausage named Raúl! A person who is all truth and all heart. Where are you Raúl? Don’t hide yourself under the hat. He came in 2nd place in la porra (betting game) of the Euro Cup. The talent scout of the team.  With the number 2, Raul Albiol!”

Pique

“With the number three, wait whose number three? oh, Pique. Measured at 192, blonde hair, blue eyes, beard and here I wait for you. With the number three the heart throb of Spain, best defender in the world, Gerard Pique!”

Martinez

“With the number four, from the lands of Bilbao. Do I talk of you as a man or as a player? As a football player, the muscle of Spain I’ve said this since the World cup. Steals, takes, the muscle, steals more goals, puts it in, pressures, cuts. As a person, damn well, as a person “Farandulero”! You are a “Farandulero” man! With the four, Javi Martinez!”

Juanfran Torres

“The number five, we have taken him out of the racetrack. He has the face of a gargoyle, you give him a jersey and the number five and he is Juan Francisco, the lung of Atleti Madrid, yes sir, an applause for Atleti Madrid as well. Come down here, put down your drink! Let’s see how you look. Lightning McQueen, you may also know him as Lightning McQueen! Wait he wants to say something”

Juanfran: “Long live Spain, I am a Spaniard, I am a Spaniard, I am Spaniard. Long live the drunkenness!”

Iniesta

“With the number 7, oh wait sorry. With the number six, the best player in the Euro Cup. The man in Spain everyone loves, the one who has reached the hearts of all the Spaniards! A marvel of a human being even more than a football player. The great Andres Iniesta!”

Andres Iniesta: “Good night to all of you. I would like to say 2 things. I am very proud to be part of this team that is full of legends because they are all unique, but overall I am very proud to see all of your happy faces. In these hard times, it makes us happy to see you all happy. Long live Spain! And long live Funtealbilla!”

Pedro

“With the number seven, can I have a rum with coca-cola. The bachata of Spain, let’s dance, the both of us! You like to dance, oh you like to dance. The Bachata of Spain, the Zamba …”

Pedro: “Good evening to all of you, we are very happy to have achieved this title, to have made history, and how Andres said to see these faces of happiness which for us is very important. That’s it. Nothing more. Long live Spain!”

Pepe Reina: “With the seven, Pedrito!”

Xavi

“With the eight, he already has 100, how many has it been? 100- no that’s a lie, 106? 116? 108? 108 games with the National team. He has played for Spain since he was 4 and a half years old. The man who orchestrates this team, the man who makes us play real football, Xavi Hernandez!”

I love his hair swept over like this!

Fernando Torres

“With the nine, my brother of the Red. With the number nine, the Pichichi of the Euro Cup, with big balls. El niño of Spain. The man who began it all with a goal in Euro Cup during 2008 and the one who closed it with an assist in 2012. My brother, my friend, Fernando Torres ! I love you monster.”

Fabregas

“With the number ten. At your discretion, I have to say that he progresses adequately. The truth is that every time he gets even better. He’s marked–How many goals have you made? Two. And with the penalty, three, the penalty which he put in. With the number ten he left home for a while and he acquired a great and important future. Now he has returned to what was home, to Barcelona. And he will be in the Spanish team for many years. With the number ten of Spain, Francesc Fabregas.”

Negredo

“With the number eleven the authentic beast of Vallecas. The black beast. The Tank. The authentic phenomenon, Alvaro Negredo!”

Valdes

“With the number twelve, we have known each other since we were children. We have gone through good times and not so good times every now and then. But I care for you and we get along bitching well no matter what they say. The panther of the fowls, the reflexes, the power, and the character and of course I mean myself. With the number twelve, Victor Valdes!”

Mata

“With the number thirteen, the golden foot. The last goal scorer from this team of legends. The man who shaved this afternoon, as you can all see. With the number thirteen, the goal scorer, Juan Mata!”

Xabi Alonso

“With the number fourteen! Come on already. The majestic. More then 100 games with the Red, champion of the Liga, Champion of Europe, Champion of Europe with Liverpool. Man, introduce yourself it embarrasses me.

Xabi: “What?!”

Pepe Reina: “Introduce yourself it embarrasses me. You’re a big man, introduce yourself.”

Xabi: “No. No. No.”

Pepe Reina: “You don’t have words do you because you’re a little drunk? With the number fourteen of Spain, the majestic Xabi Alonso!”

Ramos

“With the number fifteen, another year of remembering our beloved Antonio Puerta. From Camas. For me in this day and age, and I hope the other’s can forgive me, the best central defender in the world. He has it all: speed, good with his head, good with his right, good with his left, good with his center, he’s a phenomenon. From Camas my brother, Sergio Ramos! RAMOS RAMOS RAMOS! Sergio Panenka Ramos, you truly have to have them big to throw them how he threw them.”

VIVA SERNANDO!!!!

Busquets

“With the number sixteen, where is he? There he is. The octopus of Abadía. My right eye in the red. The vinegar of Busquets. The son of Mister. Sergio Del Bosque Busquets but more commonly known as the octopus of Abadía. Steals, cuts, plays, makes you play, the control and creativity of Spain. With the number sixteen on his back, Sergio Busquets!”

Arbeloa

“Number seventeen. SPARTAN!”

Arbeloa: “Spartans, what is our profession?!”

Pepe Reina: With the seventeen, a piece of a football player who has grown within the years. He has now made himself irreplaceable in Real Madrid and the Spanish Team. Which is a lot to say. With the number seventeen of Spain, Alvaro Arbeloa!”

Jordi Alba

“With the number eighteen, he’s fucked cause I have no idea what to say. With the number eighteen, with all my respect, not even Lorenzo or Pedrosa, the machine of Spain is this boy. The revelation of the Euro Cup. The scurry of Spain, since childhood, Jordi Alba!”

Llorente

“With the number nineteen, the worst player of poker in the Spanish team. For me what he has of height he also has as a good person. I swear to you on my life I have never met a person with more integrity and nobility in the world of football. I love him like a brother and with nothing but sincerity I say it. The number nineteen of the Spanish team, Fernando Llorente! LLORENTE LLORENTE!”

Cazorla

“With the number twenty, come here. With the number twenty another one who I have a predilection for in this team. For me he is one of the players with the most quality in the world. He hasn’t played much, but hey listen up, you’re always on my team just so you know.”

Cazorla: “I know.”

Pepe Reina: “It’s good that you know. With the number twenty, from Asturias, with all his grace, with his height, and with his amazing quality as both a human and football player. My friend and brother, Santi Cazorla!

Silva

“With the number twenty-one, Luis Enrique! One of the players of the night, an extremely important player for Spain. He doesn’t want me to call him Pony, but it is what it is. He’s going to say, the magician of Arguineguin what it’s like to make a mark in a Euro Cup final being a legend.”

Silva: “I feel what all of Spain feels. I feel happy for begin a legend with this entire group. The truth is we won’t know what this feels like in a few years. Hopefully we can enjoy it with all of you during this time.”

Pepe Reina: “With the number twenty-one, David Silva!”

Navas

“With the number twenty-two, the crazy Pajarillo, the nerve of Spain, the player who runs the most in the entire world. The good, the long great friendship and above all else the drive of Spain. With the number 22, Jesus Navas!”

Casillas

“With the number 1! Withe the number 1! The man who is a living legend in this country. A player who sometimes wears this shirt (red). He has won it all. He has defended these colors to the death. He is not only an example as a football player but as a person. I have been blessed to have spent seven years with him and the only thing I can say is that I keep learning from you Iker. I love you and you deserve this. Number one Iker Casillas!”

Iker: “Hello, hello to all of you, good evening. Thank you very much Pepe for this introduction to our esteemed public. Well, honestly thank you very much to all of you. For me it’s an honor to be able to captain this team where I believe there there is not only great players but great people. And in all honesty for me it’s the greatest of pleasures to be able to be here with all of you and give you all such happiness that comes with winning a Euro Cup. We have been fortunate enough in the last four years to have won two Euro Cups as well as a World Cup. Thank you all for being here tonight. Keep believing in us!”

I told you Juanfran had a thing for Pepe..

Pepe: “Mister. Mister? Where is he, oh we don’t know where he is. The conductor of the Spanish team, Don Vicente Del Bosque. The patient man. The humility of this country. I don’t know if I’m wrong and I’m pretty sure I’m not but he’s the only manager who has ever won a World Cup, and a Euro Cup. A big round of applause for DON VICENTE DEL BOSQUE!”

“This year to change things up a bit, Sergio Ramos has asked to present number 23 of Spain. Let’s see what he has to say.”

Reina

Sergio: “With the number twenty three, coming from Córdoba. With an art and a swag that no-one else has. With an art that is unbeatable that only a don named Pepe Reina can have. With the number twenty-three because we all love him and his name is, Pepe Reina!

And god bless you my brother, and god bless your bald head my brother, because I love you. And because long live Spain and because we are only and we are the best! And we have balls!!!”

After the party at Cibeles, the boys headed to a private party at Kudeta with just family & friends. The ladies looked wonderful & the guys looked tired.
Leo Millares, tattoo artist to the celebs, was invited to last night’s festivites, which I find…..odd. Dear God, I hope he wasn’t there showing Sergio sketches of the trophy!

Thanks so much for the translations! Anyone have an idea of what was going on when Xabi staggered back onto the stage between Busquets and Arbeloa?

  2. April July 4, 2012 at 12:32 am #

The amount of drunk in that far corner with Xabi and Juanfran… oh wow. I couldn’t stop laughing… it was as if they were relegated to the corner and like they were high school kids having their first couple of beers. Toooooo funny! And Xabi usually being so smooth and in control made it all the funnier. I’d like to think that Sergio’s sign off with the “balls” comment was poking fun at Reina’s assertion that both Sergio and Fernando have big balls. Not that I doubt this insider knowledge from Reina. 😉

hahahaha!! what a great comment, April!!

I don’t get the Luis Enrique reference with Silva. Can anyone explain?

    • Uli July 5, 2012 at 4:54 pm #

Luis Enrique is a famous Spanish footballer of the past, he’s a coach in Roma now. David has some facial resemblance with him.

Here are the ones that are confirmed to actually be the players. Anything else is a fake – I think I’ve got everyone on the list but if I don’t, I’m sure someone will remind me. For the record, Sami & Mesut do not have Twitter accounts.

I think we should accept Sergio’s “L” symbols are him showing his love for David Luiz https://instagr.am/p/Ml9FF7DHUn/media/?size=l as the cult of Luiz is growing

    • Uli July 5, 2012 at 4:46 pm #

I’m afraid that’s the way he shows love for his girlfriend Lara Alvarez! 🙂 He even tweeted a photo after the finale showing this sign and writing: “For you, for me, for us. TQ and S&L” where TQ= te quiero (I love you) and S&L= Sergio and Lara.
or were you just kidding? 😀

      • headbandsandheartbreak July 5, 2012 at 4:57 pm #

I think Ellie was kidding. We have a saying here that he’s shouting us out. The L is for Lozil and that M tat right above his crotch is for Maisougio. 😉 OUR STORY AND WE”RE STICKING TO IT! 😉

        • Uli July 5, 2012 at 6:59 pm #

hahaha! Now I’m also sticking to your story! 😀

      • Ellie July 5, 2012 at 5:48 pm #

Lol Just kidding, but who doesnt love David Luiz?

  7. canadanata July 5, 2012 at 4:23 pm #

I think the guys where less energetic than the previous celebrations they had with the NT. Maybe they where tired.
On a side note, it seems that none of them know how to sing or dance!!

    • Uli July 5, 2012 at 4:49 pm #

vice versa!! they were MUCH MORE energetic this time, including Pepe Reina’s show! no one was that drunk in 2008 or 2010. and Sergio Ramos is a brilliant singer and dancer. Pedro is a good dancer. They all are good dancers. Or we have very different understanding of fun and dances. 🙂

      • canadanata July 5, 2012 at 6:27 pm #

they where just jumping around and singing off key LoL

        • Uli July 5, 2012 at 7:01 pm #

you should be less strict to the boys, they were way too drunk! lol

          • canadanata July 5, 2012 at 7:09 pm #

            HAHA, i will try 😉
