Finally, I can get to the bits and bobs! (There was a lot to catch up on today). Alvaro Arbeloa treated us to photo evidence of a 25 meter race between Sergio & Fabio in their tighty whities. I hope more pictures like last year’s surface. So, who won?
Fabio, you shouldn’t have stopped to look at the camera! That cost you precious seconds. Sergio got into the spirit by posting this compilation shot. Because he’s a total dork.
We can only hope and pray that they decide to repeat their water polo experience from last year (and take more photos). Here’s a few shots of the boys that popped up on Twitter and Instagram.
Both Arbeloa and Albiol have tweeted some Pipa quotes. Unfortunately, the Google Translate versions make no sense to me. Can anyone translate properly?
David kindly left us with a few more shots as he makes his way back home so that Chelsea can get ready for the season in earnest.
Looks like he has a boo boo there. Anyone know what happened? Meanwhile in London, the Olympics kicked off. Juan Mata tweeted these shots before the opening ceremony. Sadly Spain lost their second match to Honduras today and made an early exit from the Olympics.
Brazil today secured their spot in the quarterfinals along with Japan so of course it’s just an excuse to show some Marcelo pictures.
The US Women’s team was embroiled in all sorts of controversy this weekend. First off, there was Hope Solo’s twitter war on Brandi Chastain. Forzasusan and I were following it live while we were at the Trophee de Champions match and we couldn’t believe it. It was announced today that Hope wouldn’t be punished for the remarks.
And Abby Wambach took what can only be called a sucker punch from Colombia’s Lady Andrade. I find it hard to see how that was “accidental.” FIFA is looking into it. Here’s Abby’s eye. She said it’s healing up nicely. I really admire that she didn’t retaliate, she just gathered her shit and scored. As always, Abby, you rock!
And here is a Nando training shot along with a few left over Sergio on vacation photos courtesy of GF Sports.
