Training, Concentracion & So Much More

28 Aug

What’s caught your eye, Pipita? Looks like it’s Mesut.

The last training before the Super Copa final took place this afternoon. New dad Pepe was there along with new signing Modric (aka Null Null aka Nullie).

Basically, everyone was called up for tomorrow’s match although a few will end up sitting in the stands.

Goalkeepers: Casillas, Adan and Jesus

Defenders: Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo, Coentrao, Albiol, Arbeloa and Varane

Midfielders: Ozil, Modric, Kaka, Xabi Alonso, Granero, Khedira, Lass, Alley and Di Maria

Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Higuain and Morata

The boys are now concentrated (sucks that Pepe can’t be home with his girls) in the good ol’ Sheraton Mirasierra.

Evil Bunny Bus Time!

And look who came to visit the day before a Clasico: Luis Figo! He’s a total troll, I love it.

Mou had his presser and he’s still grumpy about the last few games. I can’t say as I blame him.

Mourinho: “We are both great teams with some of the best players and anything can happen

“The team played well in the Camp Nou and we will try to perform well in the Bernabéu”, added Real Madrid’s coach

Real Madrid plays the return leg of the Super Cup in the Santiago Bernabéu against Barcelona and the White’s manager, José Mourinho, analysed the meeting in the lead up to the match in a press conference: “The tie is open. The first leg result can’t change. In the league, we lost the last match at home. In the cup, we lost here and in Barcelona I don’t know how we didn’t win… We drew in the Super Cup and again I don’t how we didn’t win in Barcelona. We are both great teams with some of the best players and anything can happen”.

The manager knows full well that the match will be tough and that it is difficult to make a game plan, but also that it is an open tie given the result in the first leg. “It is very difficult to make plans for matches and it is tough to makes things go your plan. You don’t know what will happen and matches change on small details. A game plan is very difficult when they have the ball, we have to try and defend well and, when we have it, we have to try and play well, with freedom, and score. If you can call it a plan, it is a basic plan. When they have the ball, defend and, when we have it, we try to score straight away”, explained Mourinho, who added when asked about what the team has to do to defeat Barcelona: “Nothing. You saw the first game just like me. You know how you drew level and you know that going from 1-0 to 1-1 in a single minute is an important difference. The team played well and we will try to perform well again”.

Real Madrid have formalised the signing of the Croatian footballer Luka Modric, and the Portuguese manager spoke about his physical shape and his adaptation into the team. “He is in a normal physical condition for someone who hasn’t trained with his team in a while or even played a lot. He has got minutes under his belt for his national team but nothing else. I think that, given his profile, he won’t need a lot of time to get himself into shape. I think he’ll be ready shortly”. In relation to the position he will take on the field, he pointed out: “Wherever he feels uncomfortable”, he joked: “When we sign a player we know where he feels comfortable, and why we wanted to sign him and why we have taken such a long time. He was our number one target. We know what his game is all about and what his favourite position is. He will play in a position that he calls his own. He certainly won’t be playing as a number 9 or a left-back”.

The manager was asked about the last league game and if he held a meeting with his players, to which he replied: “I spoke but I have nothing to say about what was said. I haven’t seen the press reports but I have seen that some have mentioned this meeting. We did have a meeting and I said what I had to say about the analysis of the previous game. I won’t tell you what was said”.

José Mourinho also summed up the three matches that his team has played thus far: “In the first league game, our game was acceptable without being spectacular. The team played well in the second half. We drew but we deserved to win. That is normal in my opinion. In the second game, we played well against tough opposition. We sat back in the first half, and the second half was very balanced and, in my opinion, good despite the result and the fact we lost 3-2 which leaves the game wide open. Acceptable too. In the third game, the team’s performance was unacceptable in all aspects, concentration, tactically… for me it was unacceptable”. “In the Coliseum, the team played as Cristiano performed. He was neither better nor worse than the team. That is why I put the eleven in the same boat because no one player was better than the others”, he stated about the game of Ronaldo.

“Ricardo is not part of our plans for the season. We have four central defenders, but he is a contracted player and we have to respect that. A lot of teams are interested in Ricardo. He is a quality player and there is interest in him. There are various teams from different leagues who have shown an interest in him. It is up to him whether he wants to continue playing football or stay at Real Madrid and meet his contractual obligations and practically end his sporting career. Pepe had a good training session yesterday and there were no problems. He left early for the birth of his daughter. Mother and daughter are doing well, I think he will be better than ever today and we are hopeful that he will be able to play tomorrow”, he stated about the situation of Carvalho and Pepe.

In relation to the ins and outs of first team footballers, he explained what the situation is up to the close of the transfer window. “I can’t go into details about whether I have spoken to each player. We have to wait until 31 August with Kaká. If he goes, he goes, and if he doesn’t, we will try to get the best out of him, like all the other players in our squad. But the market is still open and the squad is not final”, Mourinho said.

“I don’t have this kind of problem. For me it is only the difference in attitude between the first two games and the last. For me, winning the Super Cup or beating Barcelona is not important. For me, the important thing is knowing if the attitude we had against Getafe was fleeting or if it is a situation resulting from a certain psychological profile that some players, and in this case the team has created. This is the fundamental point for me. I can lose the Super Cup or the match. But for me it is fundamental to know what players I have, and what individual and collective psychological profile I am dealing with. And if the situation of Getafe is an occasional situation or if we are going to repeat the psychological profile of the team tomorrow. That is the only thing that worries me”, concluded the manager of Real Madrid.

It worries me too. I’m just wondering where their collective head is at. I think things may calm down once the transfer window closes. It’s gotta be hella stressful. Speaking of, Kaka’s wife Carol seems to be having a bit of a meltdown all over Instagram about his transfer situation. She posted this shot yesterday.

And this rant, which is Google Translated (You can read it in the original Portuguese here): “The best in the world by FIFA! Gold ball! We have won every award possible and impossible! He won everything that any player dreams, played in the best clubs in Brazil and Europe. Suffered, and won. Passed by the struggles and sufferings and emerged victorious! Was injured and was healed. He could have stopped playing for years, but still, punctual, hardworking, committed, disciplined, dedicated, and never be seen anyone. Deserves recognition and prestige. The admiration of the families of the places we go through the world has always been the human being that you are: faithful, authentic, intact, suitable. Of uniqueness. You will come out on top, because God has to honor those who honor Him! Forever you will be my best world!! Better husband, father and professional! Dad, we love you too! And ever since we’ll be together again! Brazil, fans, admirers, lovers of football, we need the strength of you guys!”  There was also an article where she says that if Kaka leaves Madrid, they are all going to Sao Paulo and they won’t consider another country.  I don’t know about you, but it seems to me that it’s not a good idea for her to get in the middle of this transfer saga. Sometimes, you should just put the Iphone down and walk slowly away from the social media.  Milan announced today that their deal with Kaka is off. End of story.

Meanwhile, in happier transfer news, Nullie seems to be settling in. He already made it to Sergio’s twitter feed (and the tweet was in English! With only one word misspelled!) Get used to being pawed by Sergio, kid, it’s going to become a way of life for you. If you have issues with people touching you, you’ve come to the wrong team. Real Madrid have no concept of personal space, god bless ’em. But as you can see, both Sergio & Nullie are speaking the universal language: the thumbs up.

Watishista Rose mentioned that someone over on hala_madrid said Nullie looks like Lady Edith and I nearly choked on my tea. So damn true! Observe:

Yeah, I totally see it. What say you, Downton Abbey fans?

Real Madrid gave the players some bitchin’ personalized watches for winning the Liga last year. Both Marcelo and Calleti posted shots.

I know watishisto El Fano is going to love those pictures. That man knows his big watches!

Calleti also posted a picture of him with Juanmi from back in their cantera days saying “Such memories…Hala Madrid!”

Marta, Calleti’s girlfriend has a thing for shoes and posts shots of her acquisitions. These are her new Jimmy Choo sneakers. People, I think these are just heinous. Sorry. I’m sure some people will love them, but I don’t care who made ’em, I think they are ugly. What do you think?

Injury to insult, they probably cost a ridic amount of money. They look like something David Villa would buy. (Remember when Pique tweeted a picture of these and asked us to guess who they belonged to? Still can’t believe they were Villa’s or that Sergio doesn’t own a pair).

If y0u want an enjoyable and hilarious read, check out The Survivalist Adventures of Bearded Andrea Pirlo over on Dirty Tackle. Someone in the comment section pegged it: he looks like an Italian Chuck Norris.

And on that note…

Bless Sergio, RM really are touchy feely. I wonder who the new kid will befriend. Shall we do a sweep stake? 😀

We totally should! I’m curious to see where he’s going to end up socially.

i see him hanging with ze germans and benz.

        • Danielle August 29, 2012 at 2:23 pm #

Yeah I think so too. But I’m not sure he’s gangsta enough for Benz.

oh, he’s totally not. i was thinking more along the lines of sami, who also speaks practically flawless english (do we know if modric speaks anything other than croatian and english? admittedly, i don’t follow him much so i don’t know), and then by osmosis, he’d adopt ozi and benz. nice little foursome. 😉

I agree with ya on those Jimmy Choos. More money than sense.

    • headbandsandheartbreak August 28, 2012 at 5:15 pm #

THANK YOU. That’s one of my favorite phrases: “More money than sense” because it’s so often true.

      • Danielle August 29, 2012 at 2:24 pm #

So often true when it comes to ballers and their other halves. I often wonder if money makes you lose your taste or whether they never had any in the first place.

I’m picturing Pirlo as Chuck Norris…absolutely perfect! Thanks for the link, it made my day.

Does anyone know if Sese speaks English? i know some of the guys play around with google translate, etc. which usually doesn’t work out all that well. cough Iker cough

    • headbandsandheartbreak August 28, 2012 at 6:10 pm #

He’s supposedly been learning English (or trying to) for a few years. I’m sure he speaks and understands some, but I don’t think it’s extensive. Can anyone else verify the extent of his English speaking? I love Iker and his Ikerlish. “A hug young, cronies!” And the ever popular (well, at least here) “force violin”

      • black widow August 29, 2012 at 10:09 pm #

i still don’t get the force violin and what he was trying to say.

but my favourite ikerish still has to be “that wasn’t an easy party!” hee.

    1. Those shoes are fug. Period.
    2. I love how everyone looks focused and serious in the pics (Pepe just had a baby, so of course he’s smiling ^_^) except Modric, who looks like a kid hyped up and going on a school trip. He’s positively beaming!
    3. Xabi v Pirlo: The Beard-Off! Someone make it happen NOW!

    1) I want to see Sergio’s new picking people up habit extend to Modric. It would be precious.
    2) Stretching pic at the top. Fabio’s left hand. Ponder.
    3) Marcelo’s shoelaces are awesome.
    4) I will probably be watching the clasico by peaking through my fingers.

Lady Edith, good one 😀 I always thought he looks like Robert Carlyle.

    • black widow August 28, 2012 at 9:56 pm #

OMG you’re BOTH right! he totally looks like the love child of lady edith and robert carlyle! hahahaha! i see it!

  8. GourcuffLover August 29, 2012 at 1:03 am #

Haha those shoes look like they came from Etsy, very crafty chic!!

Oh I see Lady Null Null is resting his arm on Sese’s leg there, Sese must be laying on the charm, umm or maybe its the other way…Will Lady Null Null soon learn the ways of the The SeSe? Make-over time!!! Im totally picturing this to be a Clueless or Jawbreakers moment!

On the other side of things…Poor Kaka. I wonder if it was his choice to leave, I do wish
him the best. He was one of the reason’s I got even more into the beautiful game. His wife does need to cool it and not get in the way.

  9. M August 29, 2012 at 1:39 am #

I see Null Null is already got in on the manbag scene. Ugh.

I really feel bad for Kaka and his family. It must be hard to be in that position. I do wish his wife would stay away from this but this is her way of supporting him I guess.

  10. HermosaChica August 29, 2012 at 7:20 am #

Curse those thumbs! Sergio is such a bad influence *huff* I’m pretty sure “Nellie” had to go through some sort of avocado face mask initiation ceremony before taking this photo to prove that it all went “smoothly”..

OMG LOL! Modric and Downton will never be the same after that Lady Edith comment. 😆 Genius!

I absolutely loathe these types of “glammed up” shoes. Don’t they contradict the point of casual sneakers?!

  11. tasha August 29, 2012 at 12:41 pm #

Hey, if Dahveed wants to wear leopard print sneakers, he’s gonna have to take all the joking he gets as a result. 😉

Looks like Pipita is giving the man-scrapers the stink eye for leaving him out of the club. “Fairies”. Either that or he is superjels of Crozil’s bromance…which we all know is true!
