Ladies & Gentlemen, Your 2012 Supercopa de España Champions!

29 Aug

Ah, our beautiful, wonderful campeones! So proud of them! Maisougio will have  a whole big match recap, but we just wanted to get a few celebratory pictures up tonight while we’re all still giddy.  HALA MADRID!

Here’s the two men who, for me, just tore it up on the pitch today: San Iker and Pepe. What a week it’s been for Pepe! Recovery from injury, the birth of his baby girl and a trophy!

Here’s a bunch of shots from the mothership and the boys’ social media profiles (including some of a sad and wistful looking Pirata. WAH!) Looks like everyone made an effort to include new guy Null Null which is sweet. I love it that 8 minutes after his debut, he had a trophy. Nice work if you can get it! 🙂

Pipita’s already moving in on Modric. Figures.

Sorry to dump and run but I have to be up early tomorrow. Now we just have to keep focused and get back to work on the Liga. I can’t wait for any upcoming Drunk!Xabi photos. Always a bonus of winning silverware.

Would it be wrong of me to photoshop my head on Pepe’s body in that 2nd pic? Iker looks so good kissing that trophy!

      HAHAHAHA! DO IT! 🙂 (I won’t tell)

      • jellyace August 29, 2012 at 11:50 pm #

That pic was just before Pepe kissed Iker on the shoulder!

        • Allison August 30, 2012 at 9:35 am #

I’d have to kiss more than that. 😉

These are too cute…but I wanna know why there are so many shirts still being worn??

  3. jellyace August 29, 2012 at 11:49 pm #

That first half was a heart-stopping thriller! I am so relieved we won! Maybe Modric is our lucky charm (yeah, he does look like a Keebler Elf) or maybe Mou’s “you guys play like crap” rant did it, but our team is back and just in time! Congratulations to the Campeones!

    Things I just noticed:

    1) No sight of Kaka, except on his locker room seat, which is still there beside Cristiano’s. To me, that means he’s still on the team. So his absence may be bec he is soooo in the doghouse with Mou, or he’s off to Italy trying to fix his transfer.

    2) Iker shaves his underarms (or he’s a hairless chihuahua).

    3) Marcelo’s braces are gone!

    • jellyace August 29, 2012 at 11:53 pm #

      4) After Iker raised the trophy, he gave it to Modric, who also lifted it. As he did, Cristiano bowed and hugged Modric at the waist. Ronaldric? Lutiano?

    • headbandsandheartbreak August 30, 2012 at 12:05 am #

Marcelo’s braces have been gone since before the Olympics! I think he got them off at the end of last season.

    • Nooria August 30, 2012 at 1:20 am #

Can I just say: CAMPEONES! CAMPEONES! OLE, OLE, OLE!!!!! 🙂
Also, everyone EXCEPT Kaka was there in the celebrations 😦 tbh, he’s being treated reeeeally unfairly. I don’t want him to go, personally, but if you’re gonna sell him, then just sell him without making any bad blood!

Boys got their style back!!! What an incredible game- I could hardly stand to watch it! Agree with the too many shirts comment, hehe, but I will say trophies are a great look for everyone.

Is it just me or does it seem like Modric looks a little lost as to how to hold a trophy lol

    • drea August 30, 2012 at 2:16 am #

I know what you mean! 😀 Actually, I think he still looks a bit lost in general. And his slighter stature and build (as compared to the prototypical Madrid guy), plus the somewhat Dutchboy-ish(?) haircut, make him look to me like someone’s younger brother who got pulled in for picture-taking. D’awwww…

I lost all hope when I read the headline messi scores an incredible free-kick I was like really guys n than I came here n all hope was regained.

They whole team was fantastic mwaaa they played an amazeballs game n I’m ashamed of myself 4 eva douting them. Ozi looks sooooooo hot in da pic with him, marcelo n sami. Howcome there r pic of benz. We went HAM on those MOTHERS

This game nearly gave me a heart attack. Especially the second half were Barcelona did become dangerous a few times even if they were a man down. The first half our boys were definitely in fabulous form, it could have easily been 5-0! Such an amazing game! HALA MADRID! But next time sweeties, take off your shirts please!

YEEAAHHHHHHH!! What a way to (hopefully) end a crappy start to the season! Best of all, there were no controversies or fights. Real won it fair and square. Mind you, for playing one man down Barca put up a good fight in the second half, but we scored the two goals BEFORE they got the red card, and I think Barca (and, honestly, myself as well) were simply stunned in the first half by Real’s intense start.
(But that was a SWEET free kick Messi took to score for them! ^_^)

The group pic on the field, look at Ronaldo and Modric 🙂
There’s no denying Ronaldo can have some pretty severe diva tantrums on the field (not as much as in the past, but they do pop up still), but I do believe he’s a great, friendly guy who does his best to welcome new players into the squad.

Also, I am really falling for Modric. Few people on the discussion board I was on had a bit of a panic attack last night when he was subbed on for Özil (“OMG! See? See?! Already he’s edging out our Mesut!! How DARE they replace Bambi with the newbie?!”), but it’s not uncommon at all for Mesut to be subbed off near the end of the match, and it was a nice opportunity for Modric to come on and get a feel of the game and the team (and Barcelona). Am looking forward to seeing him grow at Madrid, honestly. Yesssssss, the niggling concern at the back of my head of whether he might usurp Mesut’s spot will always linger, but for now I will focus on the positives 🙂

I’m so proud of the boys! They really deserved it. And Cris! Scoring in 5 clasicos in a row.

Also, Sergio wearing his shirt backwards the cutest thing ever.

those last few minutes of the match were so horrible, i was so scared barca were going to snatch a last minute goal!
a few things though… i seem to have missed the modric/null null thing haha, please could somebody explain :)?
also, my commentator said it was pretty much done and dusted that pirita was off to the epl… WHAT?! has anyone else heard this?
and also, neither kaka or carvalho were in the celebrations. it seems especially unfair on kaka seeing as he really did contribute towards the liga last year, but i think it’s just a sign that neither of them will be around for much longer 😦
soooooo happy we won though, HALA MADRID 😀 😀

    • MissLadya August 30, 2012 at 3:28 pm #

Modric/Null Null = a few days ago, before Modric’s move to Madrid was officially completed, his profile prematurely appeared on Real Madrid’s homepage under their players’ section, despite him still being with the Spurs. The profile was quickly taken down and replaced simply with “null null”. Fans were quick to latch on to that and it’s become his new nickname 🙂

      • Anna August 30, 2012 at 5:01 pm #

hahaha, i heard about him being on the website, but didn’t hear the null null bit, thankyou!!! 😀

Xabi cooling down his thighs at the end of the match. I hope someone made a gif of that!

    • Rose August 30, 2012 at 9:22 pm #

Dear god yes! That was my first thought when I saw that happening. I came across one on Tumblr earlier.

      • jellyace August 31, 2012 at 12:05 am #

Hi, girls! Amazing post. I don’t know if you already mentioned this issue, but Is it just me or Iker is no longer going bald?!

    • jellyace August 31, 2012 at 12:07 am #

He’s losing the temples but trying to hide it without resorting to a combover, more like a grow-over.
