It’s A Legal Matter, Baby

20 Sep

Mou is always the center of controversy because, well, he’s Mou. However, it’s gone all legal now with Real Madrid getting involved in one particular case and Mou taking on Marca in the other.

It all started when former Barca VP Alfons Godall started shooting his mouth off on Twitter after the Champions League match vs. Manchester City.

The first roughly translates to “”Unfortunately the psychopath was celebrating goals like a player. He needs to compensate for the frustration of being hopeless while playing …” and the second is griping about RM winning the 3 points while the words “psychopath” and “whores” are featured. Sigh. Whatever.  In my opinion, it’s just some moron blowing off steam. Unfortunately, it’s a moron affiliated with Barca so RM has to get involved. They issued a Comunicado Oficial (via Google Translate): “The Real Madrid CF rejects in the strongest disqualifications of the former vice president of FC Barcelona, Alfons Godall, toward the figure of our coach, Jose Mourinho, after the conclusion of Tuesday’s meeting between our team and Manchester City. The Real Madrid CF condemns this attack and has instructed its legal services to undertake legal action they deem appropriate. The Real Madrid CF will not allow attacks of this nature and will always act against those who violate the honor of those who are part of our club.”

News has also come down the pike that Mou is taking legal action against Marca reporter Roberto Palomar for saying that he’s the sort of person who would mow someone down and then flee the scene.  Sounds like they’re going for defamation of character.

So when do you just ignore the jibes and when do you take action? I guess when it’s members of the media or someone representing another club is when it crosses the line from the usual “Mou eats babies. He sux!!!111!!!11!!!” crap that you see all over the internet. I’m just tired of the hate, period. Especially with a Clasico looming in 2 weeks. Ugh.

It’s in two weeks?! woah, that’s crept up on me.

Surely Alfons Godall should know he can’t say stuff like that, you’d have thought he’d know better having been the VP.

Looks like someone really needs a dose of media training. It’s kinda pathetic to think that a grown adult who *knows* his tweets are going to be monitored shoots him mouth off like this.

I’m just tired of all the drama the media is drumming up about Real Madrid.
I don’t know if anyone has seen or read about Casillas not celebrating the last goal and Ramos being benched drama etc etc…It’s just annoying period. I agree, tired of the hate. If it’s not one thing it’s the other.

      Exactly. It’s frigging ridiculous!

I caught some of the stuff about Casillas. Heaven forbid he wouldn’t want to exert the energy to jump and flail after a 90-minute game in a tough season, right? People gotta make mountains out of molehills.

I read that Iker had found out just before the match that the sick little boy he met during the Euros had passed and decided that he wouldn’t celebrate any of the goals. He was just conveniently shown not celebrating Cristiano’s goal. Bravo to the media who continue to shit stir when Iker’s actions were out of respect for one of his fans. Shame on them.

Ohhh yeah, I saw that on his Facebook page. Didn’t look at the timing, though; that makes sense.

          Media. Bah.

I’m going to be in Madrid for El Clasico!

I am sure that Mou is taking this action as part of his strategy to cock for the Classico. Well done Mou! Such actions although directed to some outsiders, they help to heal the wounds inside. At least we won’t see stupid actions from Cassilas (e.g. kissing and hugging his smelly friend, Messi, etc).

    • headbandsandheartbreak September 20, 2012 at 5:30 pm #

What’s stupid about him showing affection to a friend? Smelly? C’mon. I think we’re above the playground put downs here.

I can’t get with the partisanship, I just can’t. It’s just too petty. I would prefer we beat Barca, no problem with that, but getting to the level where the players shouldn’t be friends with each other? That smacks of silliness to me. They’re grown men. Many of who will play on different teams that are rivals over the course of their years as professionals. Why shouldn’t they be friendly?

Heck, I’m an uber liberal but I have friends who are very conservative. We just make it a point not to discuss politics. We still like each other as people. Iker and Xavi have been friends since they were kids, they should stop because they’re on rival teams? I don’t think that’s fair. Live and let live.

This 100%. Plus, who better to empathize than another player, even if they are on a different team? Yeah, they aren’t all going to like each other, but in a lot of cases, come on, how could they not?

I ran track all the way through college; lots of the the girls who were on the 100m dash line with me week after week became friends of mine because we were all going through that shared experience of competition. We all loved the sport. That’s more than enough to build on.

WTF is wrong with godall? seriously? who makes comments like that? 😐 What on EARTH is wrong with mou celebrating a come-from-behind win in a really tough, tough match? jesus christ, the ongoing drama is effing ridiculous.

i cannot believe there are actually news stories about iker not celebrating the goals. i seriously cannot believe that is a THING. i mean, he doesn’t celebrate them much anyway under normal circumstances, but his subdued attitude, if on account of hearing about that poor boy who died, is totally understandable. people ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Mou sued El Pais last year for calling him a Nazi. I can’t remember if it has come to trial yet – but he’d better win that one.

I hate slow news days because the press makes mountains out of molehills.
Come to think of it, I desperately need a slow news day for my itty bitty boobs!

Classy! And anonymous. You’re so cool and brave. Don’t you have anything better to do than troll RM blogs? Seriously. If you read this blog regularly (which you obviously don’t) you would know that we have a nice welcoming community that includes many cules. We manage to peacefully co-exist and treat each other with respect. If you can do the same, you’re welcome here, but we don’t do knee jerk trolling, so if that’s your thang, don’t let the door hit you in the arse on the way out. Now excuse me while I go polish the Supercopa.

        • maisoun September 22, 2012 at 7:12 pm #

          Ha! Make that Supercopa shine!
