Bits & Bobs: Concentracion, Call Ups, Model SBs, Amigos!, Kittens!, Pirata & For Shame, Cesc Fabregas

30 Sep

Behind as ever, that’s me! Anyhow, the match is less than 2 hours away and I’m just catching up on posting, thanks to the evil neighbors who decided to roll home at 2 AM and throw an impromptu party in their backyard, waking me up. I finally shrieked out the window at them around 3 am and they shut up. However, I didn’t fall back asleep until about 6 AM so I’m a bit out of it. Arseholes. Do they not realize that I have to post pictures of hot footy players for an international audience? PRIORITIES, LOUD NEIGHBORS! LEARN THEM!

Looks like Cris’s neighbors pulled the same shit on him.

Call ups for today’s match are as follows:

Goalkeepers: Casillas, Adan and Jesus.
Defenders: Varane, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Arbeloa, Albiol and Marcelo.
Midfielders: Khedira, Alonso, Modric, Özil, Kaka, Di Maria and Callejon
Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Higuain and Benzema.

No Essien? Did Daddy give him a time out or what’s up?

Real Madrid’s General Assembly is going on now and they unveiled four potential designs for the renovations to the Bernabeu which came from an international architectural competition.

You can see close ups and other views of the models here. The one that’s red actually appears to change color. Interesting. What do you think? Speaking of the Bernabeu, watishista black widow is in Madrid now and kindly shared her pictures and comments from the stadium tour.

Friendship seemed to be the theme with players on their Twitter and Instagram. First up, Lass posted that Anzhi is on top of their league for the first time ever. Glad he’s doing so well and he seems happy.

Oscar Ribot visited and Calleti shared a shot with him.

Juanin posted this great shot with David Luiz & Oscar. Too cute.

Marcelo posted this shot with Enzoboy and Angel saying “#vacations #tenerife #bestmoments” They went on vacation together?! That’s kinda awesome. I didn’t realize they were so close, but that’s really sweet.

Clarice posted two pictures of the “new adoptions” of their “growing family” – kittens Leleco & Dadau. Wee kittehs! Uly just seems to sigh and go “whatevs!”

Laleco & Dadau

Pirata posed in his new QPR togs looking as gorgeous as ever. Good luck in the match tomorrow against West Ham, boo!

And finally, I just gotta say this: SERIOUSLY, CESC?! How you managed to get away with that and get poor Gary Medel sent off is a miracle. Bold faced cheek. Adding injury to insult, Cesc followed the match with this tweet.

Gross. And I would be pissed if one of our players did it too. G-d knows, I’m always shouting at Di Maria for flopping ridiculously everywhere. You’re better than that, Fabregas. Shame on you.

Off to meet up with Shiggers and J-9 now to watch the match.

Oh Cesc, and you were one of the few players I liked from Barça!
    Marcelo’s kitties, too cute!

Ugh Cesc. He’s one of the few Barca players I don’t have bad feelings towards. But ugh!

Juan Mata is so adorable. I really enjoy this Chelsea team (for the most part).

That was disgusting. Barca flayers need to stop acting. They didn’t deserve that win…I dislike them so much and this just adds on to the negative feeling.

I was disgusted with Cesc…still am. I was hoping he would do like Klose who admitted to the ref that he used his hand to score the goal, which got cancelled. But I guess, a win is more important to Barca and Cheating Cesc. I will unfan him. Yes, Cesc, be proud you got a Medel.

i wouldn’t expect that from cesc. busquets, for sure, but cesc? i’m disappointed in him — and then to almost brag about it afterwards? it’s things like this that totally rub me the wrong way about that team. 😐

anyway … i love this post! so much goodness here! el pirata in his new gear (i like it, and he looks very handsome in it, but it still looks a little strange to me … is that wrong?), bebe kitties (eeeeee!), the coolest kid in the world throwing signs with his daddy and “uncle” angelito, juanin, david and oscar looking like a muy caliente boy band, the new bernabeu designs (i like the changing colours one the best) and of course, our boys en route to the stadium for the match where they spanked deportivo 5-1!

i had 12th row near the goal and got there just in time to watch mi amor iker warm up. he even wore the green kit during the match instead of the hideous orange one, which was lovely, that colour really suits him. 🙂 the match was brilliant and i was happy to see CR7 back in fine form (two penalty kicks, plus another goal, for a hat trick!). one thing i found interesting is that, with two minutes to go, the security staff descends on the field and forms a ring around it, like a protective barrier, i guess in case any fan wants to try and run onto the field? i’ve never seen that in any matches i’ve watched at home on TV, they somehow manage to cleverly edit that out, so it was kind of surprising to see.

after the match was over, we waited til the very end to file out (i wanted to savour every last second in the bernabeu) and we were rewarded for our dawdling: calleti and arbeloa came out onto the field and started doing laps and sprints! the crowd was very, very thin at that point, and we clapped them and they clapped us right back. 😀

i cannot describe how cool it was to be there when they played the hymn and also nessun dorma at the very beginning — and the crowd’s reaction when the players’ names were called was fantastic. even the ultras weren’t as scary as i thought they’d be (though their one-arm salutes made me raise my eyebrows at certain points).

still in the process of sorting and editing photos — sadly, i have to say these are the WORST photos i’ve ever taken of any football match, ever — but will share when they’re done. hala madrid!

PS: also managed to go to the national spanish football team museum yesterday for a little quality one-on-one time with not only the actual world cup but the broken copa del rey!

Aw, what a terrific experience! I particularly like the Calleti & Arbeloa part. I was hoping it would be Xabi chilling on the bleachers as he had done before.

      • black widow October 1, 2012 at 2:17 pm #

OH OH!! OHHHHH!!!!! SPEAKING OF XABI: i can’t say with 100 per cent certainty, but i would be willing to place a fairly large bet on the fact that he walked past me on the street today when i was trying to take a photo (not of him). the hair, height/weight, clothing (white shirt, navy blue V neck sweater and nice jeans), sunglasses (ray ban wayfarers) and most importantly, ginger beard (!!!) were all present and accounted for!

the only reason i wasn’t 100 per cent sure if it was him or not is because i didn’t know if they had a free day today or if they were training. so i checked the mothership’s web site and it shows them training at football city today … but the weather looks really cloudy in the photos, so i think it was this morning because it was absolutely beautiful this afternoon, and when i saw pseudo!xabi! it was around 3.45 pm. so … possible? wishful thinking? i’m not sure, but whomever it was, he looked and walked enough like him for me to do a massive double-take and squeal! by the time it registered, he was several steps away and it was a busy, crowded street, otherwise i would have raced after him and taken a photo.

also? i saw cibeles today! 😀
