Tuesday Training

9 Oct

Adan, Callejon, Carvalho and Essien were the 4 first team players who trained with Real Madrid C while the rest of the squad was off on international duty.

I feel bad for Adan and Callejon not being part of the nt. But, I guess since there is so much competition, there isn’t much of a chance for them. 😦

Q though: how on earth is Carvalho still with us? Did he not receive a single offer? RM sadly isn’t known for treating players very well once they are no longer *ahem* performing (i’m a 12yr old mentally – sorry!) and Carvalho has been treated far better than say Raul and Guti were. Which is sacrilege imho. Is it all Mou’s doing or is there facts that I’m not aware of? And how much is he making for sitting on the bench. I like grandpa t-rex. It’s just that I think that this is so unfair.

I would have to disagree about Raul at least. Raul was injured for the last part of his last season with Madrid, I don’t think that is “not being treated well.” He is a phenomenal player who was present in the time of two sets of Galacticos. He is well respected by everyone at the club (from the top down).
But in the case of Carvalho… I don’t know that he’s being treated well. He’s not really getting playing time (like Kaka has managed). He’s simply being allowed to train with team. And as for keeping him… He’s an aging, sometimes volatile center-back who probably wants to go back to Chelsea, but Chelsea already have two aging defenders in the form of Ashley Cole and John Terry…
I don’t believe that Carvalho’s salary is causing Madrid much of a headache. Kaka earns 10million Euro a year, so you can imagine that was their reason for trying to unload him. And again, the entire organization loves Kaka but they have a financial responsibility to make him earn that money. I don’t think we’ll see Carvalho much longer…

      Like your thoughts on this.

I do feel badly for Carvalho though. Has to be tough knowing that you won’t get much if any playing time.

Just like it had to be be awful for El Pirata. At least before Modric arrived he had SOME hope of playing. Sad that he had to go to QPR to get playing time. One of the best players on their team, imo but it has to be rough being at the bottom of the table after coming from a team like Madrid.

Speaking of Pirata….has anyone seen the “desktop” picture of the team after winning the SuperCopa that’s available to be downloaded on Madrid’s website? Poor Pirata is at the very top of the pic and is the only one not smiling. It must have been right before he was traded but after he knew he was leaving. It makes me sad. 😦
