International duty ain’t gonna be the same this week! There are too many of our boys still injured from their NT appearances and from rough La Liga play (I shake my fist at you Levante). Normally I don’t mind internationals but this time I kind of want to hide our boys somewhere safe and yell “LEAVE THEM ALONE” at the NT coaches. If injuries continue at the rate they have been, we won’t have enough players to form an entire team.

lol I just want to complain how I can’t go see the colombia v. brazil match. I’m seriously like 20 min away. Curse you, uni!

so, we have: ronaldo out with injuries. marcelo out with injuries. ozil out with injuries. higgy out with injuries. benz out with injuries. arbeloa out with injuries. coentrao still not at 100%. sami still not at 100%. am i missing anyone?

jesus christ. unbelievable. we need to wrap our remaining players in bubble wrap. 😦 the fact that we’re still able to win matches with this kind of decimation speaks to the strength of our bench, but still. 😦

PS: why wasn’t xabi called up?

    • CinematiqueChic November 12, 2012 at 3:58 pm #

Sergio’s got back pain. No idea how serious it is since he’s still playing all the matches, but I still wish they’d rest him.

right — i didn’t include him because technically, he’s still playing, but i agree, i wish they’d rest him too. jesus christ. this is just NOT our season, eh? 😦

I sure hope he’s on the bench or just playing one half of the game. I don’t get why he’s called up. Del Bosque better be carefull with him!

Who’s ready for International Duty? Not Germany, apparently. Bought my ticket two months ago, eagerly anticipating seeing Özil play in person. Now he’s out … and Sami … and Klose … and Schweini … and Gomez … and Boateng … Well, shit. Am still going though (and will probably just get drunk; good fun, good fun). Still got Podolski, Hummels, Neuer, Lahm, Muller, Howedes, Gotze, Reus and Per. Nice, having such an all-round lovable team. Mind you, since I’m Dutch I guess I’d be happy regardless who wins. Just have to make sure I don’t start celebrating if Germany scores since I will be surrounded by fellow Dutchies XD

I’m kind of glad for all those not playing with their national teams. We’ve been hurt too much during international duty. I hope they will be rested for the weekend. Does anyone know what time the Brazil Colombia game start? That’s the one I would like to see. I took a liking to Falcao. And I wanted to ask you ladies. I read that Shiggers doesn’t like Kaká, but why is that? Is there a story behind it?

    • maisoun November 12, 2012 at 11:46 pm #

I included all the match kick off times, Brazil/Colombia starts at 8:30pm Eastern…I’m not sure what time zone you’re in or I’d convert it for you.

      • Soñando con Dios November 13, 2012 at 3:02 am #

Thanks!!! After I left the comment I saw that you had the game times under the squadlist. 🙂 I’m at CET, and the game will be on way too late for me, unfortunately.

For a second I thought I read that Sergio Ramos was the goalkeeper for Argentina, my face was just a whole lot of “que??” for a second 😛

Any ideas why Nando and Xabi weren’t called up for Spain?

Also, I’d really wish they’d let Sergio rest….

    • andi no.9 November 12, 2012 at 4:44 pm #

Nando hasn’t had a single summer off since 2007 for international duty, vdb probably just wants to rest him and it pains me to say he’s not at his best

I’m feeling bad for Llorente. I don’t really understand what the story is with Athletic Bilbao but not playing with his club effects his ability to play with the NT. I miss the Lion King!

    • maisoun November 12, 2012 at 11:44 pm #

He is who I’m missing the most with this friendly squad! We had to endure a Lion King-less Eurocopa & now he’s still not getting any NT time. I thought for sure he’d get some minutes with this friendly, seeing as neither Nando nor Negredo were called up….ugh BOO, just BOO!

  8. bunnysquee November 12, 2012 at 8:52 pm #

i’m heartbroken about the lack of sernando too! although it’s just a friendly, i’m sure FT is a sad puppy about not being called up.
