good for him. at least his talents are being recognised SOMEWHERE. (i’m referring, of course, to the ballon d’or.)

Of course the conspiracy theorist in me suspects this has been brought about as a way of saying, “it’s ok Cris, we in Madrid love you even if FIFA and its sheep don’t” because they all know he’s just not going to get that Ballon d’Or anytime again soon and he’s been feeling (supposedly) unsupported by club/supporters in that respect. If he isn’t going to get the BdO after the over achievements of last season, when is he going to be deemed worthy of it?!?

exactly. not to take away from the honour in any way, but it could be perceived as being some sort of consolation prize. 😦

given the way the voting goes for the ballon d’or, i seriously wonder if it has more to do with peceived personality and less to do with actual ability. meaning, they reward people who are seen as “humble” and penalize those who are seen as “arrogant.” if that’s the case, CR7 likely has about as much hope of ever winning that as deportivo do of winning la liga.

Haha ronaldo has as much hope of winning it as deportivo do of winning la liga, that’s hi larious. Don’t you think it also has 2 do with FIFA’s favoritism towards barca? I feel like they probably feel they’re players r superior 2 ours. My verdict is if messi doesn’t get it Iniesta will. I still love ronnie n know he doesn’t need the BDO 2 validate him.
