I was very sorry to hear today that Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova has suffered a recurrence of his cancer. He had a cancerous tumor removed about 13 months ago. Barca will make a statement later today about the 44 year old coach’s condition. Real Madrid made an official announcement wishing him well and extending support to his family and club. Several RM players have also offered support through social media. Our thoughts and prayers are with Tito and his family. Let’s hope he makes a speedy recovery. Animo Tito!
UPDATED: Tito will undergo surgery tomorrow with a hospital stay of 3-4 days followed by 6 weeks of chemo.

I am shocked 2 hear that. I read that his stepping down as barca coach , that absolutely broke my heart , his on of my favorite barca people so its jst sad that it happened to him n I’m not saying it should happen 2 other barca people . I hope he gets better soon n everything runs smoothly.

I support Real but I’ve been incredibly impressed with how he’s coached Barca so far. He’s already lead the team on a historical strong start and I would love to see what he can do with this team over the next few years, provided his health allows him to continue working. Wishing him strength and hopefully a full recovery ❤

We got Abidal back just yesterday but now cancer hits Tito again. Gutted.
He has proven to be a worthy opponent, and so that makes him a fierce warrior who I know is up to this new battle. And like his team, I hope he gets a winning streak. Animo, Tito!

i’ve had a rough week and have been offline for most of it, so i’m only finding out about this now … awful news. and just before the holidays, too. 😦 i wish tito all the courage, strength and determination to beat this. animo!
