26 Dec

Florentino_Pýrez_en_la_sede_central_de_EvergrandeFloPeezy is spending his Christmas holiday working. I’m sure this is a tough time of year for him, what with the recent death of his beloved wife. He’s having a multi-day visit in Guangzhou.

Official reception in China for Florentino Pérez and the Real Madrid delegation

The event was held by the Evergrande Group, owner of the Guangzhou Evergrande FC, who has an agreement with Real Madrid that has led to the creation of a football school in Qingyuan

The delegation was welcomed in the Hengda Hotel, headquarters of the Evergrande Group, whose cooperation agreement with Real has led to the creation of a football school in Qingyuan which is attended by over a thousand children.

A welcome dinner was held at the Hengda Hotel and both presidents stressed their desire to promote football in China and to strengthen the ties of cooperation between both institutions.

The Evergrande Group, which owns the Guangzhou Evergrande FC, has a cooperation agreement with Real Madrid through which it created the world’s largest training school in Qingyuan (Guangzhou), which boasts over a thousand children.

Other holiday travelers were Marcelo and his crew. They’re in Amsterdam. Here’s some cute shots they posted.

A-9xy9ECYAAKrOqCalleti, Marta, Paula and their family members got together for some holiday fun as well.

In addition to the holidays, they also celebrated his mama’s birthday a few days ago. I love how he surrounds himself with family and friends. He just radiates warmth and love, much like Marcelo.

A-4gKLiCYAQ4XttShe also sent this article about Pique and Shakira’s plans to make their baby (due in mid-January) a socio of Barcelona upon birth. Pique was made a socio when he was a few days old as his grandfather was on the board of Barcelona. As a result, he just got his 25 year anniversary insignia!

Iker posted some great post-match shots from Partido x La Ilusion on his Facebook page.

You can see how much the kids adore him and Iker looks so happy. More of that in 2013, please!

Business as usual with Marcelo and Enzo being the absolute cutest. And Calleti and Marta look adorable too – she’s so pretty. Glad to see everyone having nice holidays.

you know, i actually thought of him (flo) on christmas day and wondered how he was holding up. i’m glad he was able to turn something undoubtedly sad into something constructive — hopefully that took a bit of the sting out of his first christmas without pitina. 😦

it warms my heart to see marcelo walking without the brace! i have this ridiculous notion in my head that the minute he returns to the team, our sunshine and happiness and light will be back and we’ll miraculously win every match from there on in …

i adore how much david luiz adores his mama! SO sweet. 🙂 🙂 🙂 and the santa suit!!! OMG.

and, um, fernando llorente is looking mighty fine there, no? (i agree, lozil — that last photo just warms my heart. 🙂 )

What is a “socio”? Anyone know?

It’s a fan of the team but someone who is a subscriber, shareholder, season ticket holder essentially. They talk about it in the article I linked.
