Watishista Matea emailed us the great news that Luka Modric and his wife Vanja Bosnic are about to become parents for the second time! According to the Croatian newspapers, Vanja is 5 1/2 months pregnant and is due to give birth to a baby boy at the end of March. Mazel tov! Here’s a picture from Luka’s presentation with his little family.

Albiol spent his Christmas hanging with his brothers and they had what looks like an absolutely mouthwatering paella! Can’t believe Brian is wearing a Psy t-shirt!
Karim spent his time off with the family in Lyon. He posted this shot of the rather disturbing new hair spike action that he’s sporting. Oy.
Iker shared more of his trip to London, hanging out on Portobello Road. He also managed to find Cibeles in London! I love how touristy he is. It’s adorabl

Mesut was partying it up in Istanbul with friends and family. He was chased relentlessly by paparazzi when he hit the clubs, poor lamb.
Sami changed his cover photo on his Facebook and it’s so PHWOAR! that I had to share it. How amazing does he look? DAMN.
Mygypsyspirit tweeted me today to point out this Kaka shirt and she wondered how Shiggers would feel about it. We came to the conclusion that she would run screaming.
While I was over there looking at t-shirt (yes, I’m evil, I thought I might possibly buy it for Shigs), I came across this great Callejon shirt in the same Skreened shop.

My wee French boo, Remy Cabella posed with friends, family, an artfully tied scarf and his challenging haircut. I think you have some cappuccino foam on your upper lip, Meow.

Wow! Daniela is getting bigger, isn’t she? She’s looking really grown up now. Sergio was celebrating his parents’ birthdays in this shot.

Wow! It’s amazing how much Nando looks like Leo in that baby picture, isn’t it? And Sergio’s muscle man post is too damn cute! They grew up nicely as well!
Iker took Doce out for a walk, but looks like his doggie made a break for it. Unfortunately for Doce, his daddy is fast and used to chasing down things. These shots are all from December 2012 (via OneIkerCasillas).
I see that Iker took his beloved murse out with him. Haven’t seen that in awhile. Well, it’s time for me to finish this post (which took me HOURS – granted, I stopped for a dinner break but argh!) Maybe Madrid is doing more of a “week between Xmas and New Year” thing this year? Although I was grouchy about waiting, I like that we’re getting stuff over the break. It’s great to see them smiley and laughing and happy together. But where are bloopers from Sergio, Iker, Mou and Flo’s video? HMMMM Madrid? You know that’s gotta be the good stuff. (Actually, it wouldn’t surprise me a bit if that was a serious business shoot and no blooper moments happened).
Are Albiol’s brothers twins? Poor Chori, I have clearly neglected to properly stalk him. I’m sure he’d be devastated if he knew I hadn’t devoted the same time and energy to his personal information as I have his teammates 😛
DYING of Sergio’s baby photos. I love how both he and Nando basically look the same. But lordy was Sergio exceptionally cute. I might* be biased, but I think his little face is the most precious thing. I also love how there are early signs of the unique fashion sense we’ve all come to love.

no, his brothers aren’t twins, not that i know of. i do love that he and his other brother were allowed to name their baby brother, so they came up with the decidedly un-spanish name of “brian”. he was named after a footballer, if memory serves me right. 🙂
love the photos of iker and doce. iker actually looks decently dressed in those shots! (and i’m going to excuse the murse on the grounds that it hopefully contains baggies to clean up after doce and therefore was a necessary addition to his wardrobe. 😉 )

Nope, Albiol’s brothers are actually pretty far apart in age. Miguel is the oldest (he’s 31), El Chori is in the middle at 27 and Brian was born in 1994, which would make him just 18.
BTW, Miguel is a midfielder for Real Murcia in the Segunda Division.

Iker and his dog = best thing ever. And I totally think my older brother has a plaid shirt just like that (most likely cheaper), which is kind of amusing to me.
