It’s Official: Pep Guardiola To Coach Bayern Munich

16 Jan

130116112241-guardiola-ballon-horizontal-galleryEnding the rampant speculation about which EPL team he would go to, Pep signed a three year deal with Bayern Munich. You gotta hand it to him and Bayern, they played this one close to the vest. Well played, sir, well played. He’ll take over this summer when Jupp Heynckes retires.

They said he wasn’t coming 24 hours ago, he said he was interested in the EPL. Next morning, announcement that he’s going to Bayern. Seems pretty close to the vest to me! Classic misdirection.

I guess he wanted to go where Jose didn’t work

Yet. 😉 Those two may end up chasing each other around Europe for years.

Oh hi…happy anni ( love u) do u remember the ‘puta ama’ meltdown? I just felt terrible for pep then, i really felt his pain [ chairman Mou is not someone you’d want to come up against] but recently I’m thinking Mou’s naked flirtation with the FA is a blatant FU to pep. Id pick germany over Mou anyday. And you get to wear lederhosen/dirndl. His wife must be thrilled.

coaching man u whilst im at man

any truth to the rumor that raul will come in as assistant? i’d watch bundesliga games just for the sideline shots!

I think my head would explode. But as of now, I’m seeing denials. If I hear anything else, I’ll keep you posted.

I was so surprised when I saw this earlier!!! It’s so cool that Pep’s gonna join a German team; this move will hopefully bring some well-deserved attention to our league and put German club football truly on the international agenda.

Although I’m not too fond of Bayern when it comes to the Bundesliga, I’m all for them internationally. And I’m very much looking forward to seeing more of Pep in the future since I’m considering him a very fine man 😉

Great to see Pep again! I may be a newbie to this whole footy world, but I know what I like!

I don’t know how I feel about this. As a cule, I am sad that he is coaching anywhere. I want him to be Barca’s forever and ever. I know nothing about the Bundesliga. I guess I’ll have to start learning, especially if they throw Raul into the mix as well. I wonder if Pep speaks German…

It’s interesting he would sign for 3 years when he only ever signed on a year-by-year basis for Barca.

A balding bitch meets the bitches at Bayern.

I would PAY to be a fly on the wall when that first meeting happens.

They’re my local team, but ZERO of them are lovable (except for Jerome).

I love staring at Mario and basti but i know nothing about their personalities. Are they unlike able?

      • Jenny January 16, 2013 at 10:49 pm #

They are quite sweet actually, I regret it now. I do actually love them dearly.

It’s just as a group, they can be a tad…impassioned on the pitch. Entitled.

And Robben and Ribery hate each other so much – it’s so cute! It kind of overshadows everything!

And Thomas Mueller – that adorable brat has too much self-confidence for a cheeky, stick-thin swot of only 23!

The deaf Twitter personality EinAugenSchmaus put it best (she lip reads during the games and live-tweets): When they are with their national teams, the Bayern boy’s body language on the pitch actually changes. As a deaf person, I would consider her very alive to this.

          >they can be a tad…impassioned on the pitch. Entitled.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

it sounds like pep will be a good match. i’m interested to see how his style meshes with bigger, more physical players.

I wonder if Pep will teach them the secret to beating Barca!

    • GourcuffLover January 17, 2013 at 10:18 pm #

To get them selves a Messi? and build a team around him? Just Sayin….

On the other hand it sure is going to be interesting to see how he can better this team and hopefully not bring them down. Wether its in the Champions or in the Bundesliga. Im totally staying tuned in and I’m not even a fan of his!But I do love Bayern!

It’s been a while, and I come back to see this post? lol Well, apart from knocking us out of the CL last year I generally like Bayern. Once Pep doesn’t teach them ticki tacka I’m cool. I can finally openly drool at the sight of him without feeling ashamed and disgusted with myself 😀
