A Crazy End To A Crazy Week

5 Mar

BEoU6fMCQAAo2ATIs anyone else happy that the last week is over? I feel like we’ve been on an emotional roller coaster. How on earth did we survive 2 Clasicos & a Champions League match against Manchester United and win them all?

If you had asked me if I expected that outcome a few weeks ago, I would say that I hoped we would but that the odds were iffy at best. I thought we might take two but all three is beyond. I’m very proud of the guys. They’ve got to be EXHAUSTED at this point. Mad props to the Blessed DLo who just rocked it out today and Lady Edith? Oh my. Just everyone on the team, who keep plugging away during a week that must have been overwhelming with all the pressure and media attention. I’m so very proud of them. Here’s a few more pictures.

e82d9fca85e311e2b28822000a9f1468_7BEoa7ayCMAAfF70Nagore and Marta posted pictures from the match today. Paula made a guest appearance, looking adorable.

BEn8QugCQAAJmS33188ec2e85c611e290d522000a1fb852_7Nuri posted a great shot with his teammates at Borussia Dortmund who also secured their place in the quarter finals.

8v8siHere’s a few piccies from the day before the match. Karim posted another one of his “creations” I’m just fascinated with his rudimentary computer design skills. Bless.

482410_425496624208456_1663159330_nIker posted a couple of shots – one with Agustín Herrerin and one of himself working out during training. So good to see him on the pitch.

It was worth every bit of stress for how good it feels to have won all 3 of these matches. I’m always proud to be a madridista, but a week like this I feel like I’m going to burst with pride. Especially today. They could have panicked and fallen apart after the goal we shall not speak of, but they rocked it!

Meanwhile, I dislike that Sergio is still icing that shoulder.

This was a hell of a week, was not expecting the Blessed Dlo being that ripped

Such a great way to end the week! And Sergio better be thanking whoever is watching us! That poor boy has the suckiest luck sometimes. Can you imagine all the conspiracy theories against him in the papers if we had lost? And Diego woof woof!!!

I can’t be the only one who found it totally classless that piers Morgan tweeted that first pic to Rooney and rvp. I’m glad RM came out victorious and looking forward anxiously to the next steps of the CL.

I hope it’s nothing too serious, but if Sergio has to take his shirt off after every match to ice his shoulder, I can’t complain too much 😉
Iker’s celebration is adorable, and I love how bouncy Marcelo is

Awh poor Karim. I feel sorry for him, he goes to all the effort of making these facebook pics with him and the opposing team striker, and then keeps getting benched.

lmfaoooooo. it never even occurred to me that it was actually him who was making them, i usually just glance over them and assumed he found them online or something. i guess he needs to check out those photoshop tutorials on tumblr. haha.

Oh, I’m just taking a guess that he makes them – I can just see him concentrating on putting everything together in his practically empty living room. xD

hahaha. he definitely does make them himself! hes such a dork, i love him. lol.

I’m so glad this week is finally over – what a rollercoaster ride….
I never thought we were going to win all three matches – it’s a dream come true.
Loved Iker’s celebration….it was great – the man loves our club sooo much – no doubt there…
Regarding yesterday’s game – we used the opportunity giving by the ref 110% and that’s what a GREAT team does. This season our team has played with 10 men rather than 11 and still we managed to win (at times we even played better with 10) and Man Utd could have done the same – but they didn’t!
    A deserved win 🙂

OMG, the players and their girls are sitting in the stands (not together tho) and not in some private lounge. How can those sitting nearby act so nonchalant with the team celebrating beside them? I’d be jumping on Iker and trying to steal some curls from Marcelo!

I’m happy that it’s over, but mourinho is right yesterday the best team lost; on the first leg we did great -but became torres: we couldn’t find the goal, AND de gea was at the top of his game. Like DLo last night….
We scored more, and that’s fantastic but we also have to think: they basically killed xabi, he could barely move there was always two marking him. That really messed up our game.
Looking at bright side, congrats to DLo, lady Edith, cris; anyway the entire team 😉
    ¡Hala Madrid!

it’s a big concern when your opponents figure out how to neutralize one of your best assets in xabi. i also loved carlota ruiz schooling everyone on twitter on the rules of football. she’s a delight!

To all Madridistas & Wati-Shistas who reads German – here’s a link to ‘Die Welt”s interview with Mesut Özil and it’s pretty good.

However, good news if you don’t read German: I’ve seen on the blog Managing Madrid and researched it myself (of course!) that Google Translate actually does a very good job translating from German to English, so maybe the Non-German readers should give it a go…

Not sure if this was the right post to highlight the interview but I didn’t know where else to post it – hope it’s okay….

So glad this week is over, but so proud of our team!!! I’m sure today’s all resting, eating, and icing injuries, but I hope they’re happy. They were incredible.
