35 year old AVB got his first coaching job at age 21 working with the British Virgin Islands team. He then worked under Jose Mourinho as an assistant at Porto, Chelsea and Inter Milan. He has been head coach at Académica, Porto, Chelsea and currently, Tottenham Hotspur.

His 5 month old daughter is named Alba Violet Bale. So people have been jokingly saying that he named his daughter after his coach. Highly doubtful, but still fun to contemplate. (Jermain Defoe talked about it here)
