I Found My Thrill On Blueberry Hill

article-2304607-191B282D000005DC-562_964x729 I’m supposed to be at a party even as we speak (I’m late in fact), but they’re all going to have to wait while I update the blog. Too much going on! Thanks to watishistas Cosi & draconic_voices who sent me the link to more pictures from the new Chelsea campaign that were on the Daily Mail website. After the jump, there’s a ton of pictures of boys being splattered with paint and a making of video. As ever, if you want to see the pictures in the gallery in a larger format (and why wouldn’t you?) click on the first piccy and you can scroll right through!

article-2304607-191B3456000005DC-671_470x423I think this shot of Cech is incredible. He looks just like a Rock ’em Sock ’em Robot, doesn’t he?

Here’s the making of video and a bigger version of the main close up shot without the tagline. It’s demonic, yet hot, right?
Argh, I’m so flipping late for this party, it’s not even funny. I think I’m going to go, put in a super quick appearance and then get back here to put up the training post. Hopefully, I’ll get that in before midnight. If don’t go now, I’ll never go. Sigh. I am so footy’s bitch. It ain’t even funny.

Every team should promote their kits like that! Genius idea! When their eyes are open they all look very demonic. I bet Sergio is sulking that he wasn´t there to get the paint off of Nando! Oh the imagery!

    • jellyace April 5, 2013 at 9:49 pm #

Hahaha! Sergio missed out because Nando looks like he’s having this extreme religious experience!

He totally does and is still looking super hot. Im having all these unholy thoughts looking at him…

I’m making shot that my new desktop wallpaper!

This is one of the most incredible ad concepts ever! The Chelsea boys are the hottest Smurfs!

  3. Rose April 5, 2013 at 9:51 pm #

    Holy hip dips Fernando!

This is all sorts of hot. Like ridiculously hot.

Love love love the creativity of this ad!! It’s so damn artsy and dramatic, love where Luiz emerges from the pool of paint! This should be mandatory new-kit protocol 🙂 It’s so demonically intriguing, in the best way ever! I just love my blue boys, but I think this will look even better in blanco 😉 Who’s with me? 🙂

  5. justpitchy April 5, 2013 at 10:02 pm #

I might be one of the few that got the Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em reference! 😉

    • mygypsyspirit April 6, 2013 at 9:41 am #

Nope… I completely agree. So if Cech is the blue one, who is the red one? lol

  6. Camilla April 5, 2013 at 10:51 pm #

Adidas better come up with something just as (or more) awesome for real madrid… Seriously

P.S: david luiz rising kind of reminded me of that scene in wolverine…. And they all look really good

Oh my dear sweet Stamford, I LOVE THIS. Saw the post at intermission of a show and could not wait to get home to click through. Genius, genius marketing. Aside from the just utter hotness of the boys in (basically) only blue paint, the little touches are great- drawing three fingers down Cech’s arm for the stripes, including his scrum cap, using the paint drips to trace motion, that crazy blue waterfall. Top marks, Adidas.

David Luiz, the cutest guy ever, especially in the blue edition! 🙂
Did you have fun at the party, Lozil? 🙂

    • headbandsandheartbreak April 6, 2013 at 10:01 am #

I certainly did! Hence why I didn’t get the training post up last night. Naughty Lozil! 😉

      • Matea April 6, 2013 at 10:14 am #

        Hehehe, we’ll forgive you! 😉

Nando is one hot blue piece of perfection!
Just wish they would have focussend more on Eden’s booty.
And a YES to a RM version. Paint not even needed, just some showers, soap and water will do …

  11. mygypsyspirit April 6, 2013 at 9:43 am #

I’m obsessed with this ad. Whoever came up with the idea is not necessarily original, but to have a group of insanely well built men (Yeah, even Terry has a decent body *throws up*) do this is genius. The still shots of the making of it are stunning. And I don’t like Chelsea!

  12. Caivallon April 6, 2013 at 10:23 am #

The concept is great… I love the shots. They’re hot and beautiful…
But I’m not sure if I like the particular idea of Nando having to do all these commercials with all those rumors of Chelsea wanting to sell him or swap him… and with him looking mostly unhappy these days…
Or is this just my impression? Am I the only one thinking like that?
Anyway… he looks delicious covered in blue ^_^

    • SR 4 April 6, 2013 at 11:47 am #

No you are definetly not alone. I thought he´d leave for sure in the summer but now I don´t know… I just want him to succeed again and be happy 😦

  13. MissLadya April 6, 2013 at 11:10 am #

Damn it! Why didn’t we think of this??
*gratuitous shots of Ronaldo, Ramos, Özil, Pipita, Benzema, Xabi covered in sticky whiteness* followed by: “Real Madrid 2013-2014 kits: It’s white. That’s all that matters.”
Oh well. At least my midnight fantasies for the next two weeks are set 😉

In January there was an incident of a player punching a ball boy to the ground, was that Eden Hazard? He saw a straight red card for the incident.

Fernando is hoooooot!!! Juan too. I’m upset the paint ruins Luiz’s curls!!

    • SR 4 April 6, 2013 at 1:21 pm #

He didn´t punch a ball boy to the ground. He tried to kick the ball out from under him because he was lying on top of the ball and didn´t want to give it back. Hazard shouldn´t have lost his cool but it was quite understandable.

      • la-la April 6, 2013 at 3:48 pm #

The ball boy was the 17 yr old son of the club owner who tweeted before the match using the hash tag #timewaster if that helps add some context. Personally I’d prolly have done a pepe on him too in the circs

        • SR 4 April 6, 2013 at 5:09 pm #

You and me both! Love or hate Chelsea but that was utterly disgusting behaviour.

      • Mel April 6, 2013 at 5:39 pm #

He tried to kick the ball out from under the ball boy. How is that even acceptable?? Of course ball boys are supposed to hand over the ball quickly, but when you are a pro baller, and idolized by children, you should never kick or punch the ball boy. If the ball boy acts inaproprietly it does not entitel Hazard to do the same. Also the ref should handle it if a ball boy is doing something wrong! Furthermore, no one but the involved parties know how hard he kicked the boy.
Leason learned by Hazard, always check who ball boy’s father is before assulting said boy!

        • SR 4 April 6, 2013 at 5:59 pm #

I didn´t say Hazard should have done that. He should have let the referee handle it without a doubt but I can understand that he lost it in the heat of the moment. He didn´t kick the guy just the ball. The ball boy was faking an injury to waste even more time. And also the ball boy isn´t really a boy he´s 17.
Yes footballers are idolized by children that doesn´t mean they don´t make mistakes. They are human after all.
I don´t get why you are getting so worked up about it to be honest. Hazard apologized to the 17 year old and he in return didn´t press charges.

          • Mel April 7, 2013 at 12:29 pm #

I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to get worked up about it. The story has been coloured and the angle was a bit different in the Danish press, then what you are describing, therefore my opinion about Hazard is not the most positive.
I understand both parties did wrong, and since the matter has been solved, there’s no need to discuss the details further.
Thank you for the clarification 🙂

            • SR 4 April 7, 2013 at 4:58 pm #

Never believe what the press has to say ;). Hazard is 22. He shouldn´t be condemned because he lost his temper. I don´t even want to know what Pepe or Sergio would have done in that situation… Hazard is such a promising player. You might like him if you give him another chance :).

Agreed, david looks like a wet dog
