Champions League Draw, Training & More

12 Apr

BHqhlxXCQAAyVd8Woke up to the news that we will be facing Borussia Dortmund this morning and my first thought was to all those bi-teamuals on the blog who love them some BVB. This must be painful for you! My sympathies. First leg is April 24th at Signal Iduna Park and the return is April 30th at the Santiago Bernabeu. In between that, we play Atleti. Sigh. Another killer week for us.
ButragueýoRM’s Director of Institutional Relations & part-time Bond villain Emilio Butragueno was at the draw and said “It’s an honour for us to play the semi-finals in this prestigious competition. With repect to Borussia Dortmund, I have to say that we have faced them twice this season and have not been able to beat them. Defeating them is not going to be easy at all but we’re determined to reach the final at Wembley that everyone dreams of”.
Sorteo_de_semifinales_de_la_Champions_LeagueWe seriously are going to need play our asses off from here on in. No mistakes can be made. We’ve got to be at the very top of our game.

The team trained again today. 22 players were present with Essien, Kaka and Higuain doing their work out indoors. Kaka must have come outside at some point, because that sure looks like him shaking his finger at Cristiano in the beginning of this video.

Check out this great shot of all four of our keepers. And in non-sexy beard news, looks like Mou is growing the hobo scruff back. Sigh. Just because all the cool kids are doing it, Mou, doesn’t mean you should. Would you jump off a bridge if they did? Well, would you? Shave that beard! Why? BECAUSE I’M YOUR MOTHER, THAT’S WHY. Well, I’m not actually, but shave, okay? Pretty please with La Decima on top?

In happy news, Don Alfredo has been released from the hospital and he’s doing well. Phew!

Children from the Real Madrid Foundation school in Tangiers visited the Bernabeu, did a tour and then met with first team players.

Speaking of kiddies, here’s another picture of chubbilicious Milan with mami Shakira. She said “Uh oh, I don’t think he liked that performance!”

BHmoR9dCcAIsNSEHa! Adorable still! And I guess he really did get Pique’s big lips. I was starting to wonder. Watishista Mandi sent me this hilarious piece last weekend and I promptly forgot to post it. IsraQM reminded me of it today. Entitled “For Anyone Who Believes Gerard Piqué Is An Underrated, Beautifully Awesome DILF, This Post Is For You” was obviously written by a born watishisto. We should invite him to hang with us. Warning: Post contains nekkid Pique booty, Sergio Ramos hand holding and criminally adorable pictures of Milan. I thought of watishsita P as soon as I saw this. I cracked up when they mentioned Pique hanging around 1/2 naked dudes all the time and then showed a picture of Iker in his skivvies. If only the author knew how very rare the site of San NeverNude dishabille is!

I must get back to work now, but more soon!

How fast does mou’s hair grow? He only got a hair cut (especially for my bday) at the end of march! The beard thing looks like he’s about 10 days into movember -at the point when the guys participating look like their wives kicked them out and they’re sleeping in a car or behind a billboard.

Also? Oh Hai Gerard…u need sum fake bake on ur bum-bum…they could at least have photoshopped it. You know that would NEVER happen to Sexio

    • headbandsandheartbreak April 12, 2013 at 3:48 pm #

Ha! I was like “Well SOMEONE didn’t hit the nude beach.” Yes, that would never happen to Sergio. 🙂 I love your description of Movember – so true.

So glad that Di Stefano is doing well!

I’m pretty satisfied with the draw. Part of me wanted Barca because it would be a good feeling to knock them out, but if they were the ones to knock us out at this stage – well, I’m still not over the last time that happened! It’s nice not worrying about another clásico just yet. While it’s true we didn’t beat Dortmund in the group stages we’ve improved considerably since then and have a much stronger defence now. My money is on a Madrid-Bayern final.

maybe i’m beard deprived, but mou’s stubble is doing it for me. i can only hope he’ll show up to the CL semi final wiht a new cut/shave and incredibly expensive suit to blow our minds. or he’ll show up unshaven, raggedy and in adidas warmups, 15 minutes later with a latte.

i greatly enjoy pique’s bum, and i also enjoy that he’s not wearing a barca kit in most of the pictures. maybe the writer is a watishisto?

this draw, i don’t know. at this point i’m hoping for a clasico CL final, but that would come a week after a derby CdR final. dra-madrid.

I’m looking forward to see Nuri back at the Bernabeu! 🙂
And yes, we’re not allowed to make any mistakes because Borussia already showed us that they can beat us.
But I believe that everything will go well..

I´m pretty bumbed out that we are not playing the first leg at home. In my mind it´s a huge disadvantage. I´m hoping for a clasico CL final as well. Both matches could go either way. Somehow I´ve got the feeling the club I hate the most will win it this year but I guess that´s just me being a pessimist. Boys for the love of headbands , big butts, sex beards and tutti frutti fashion kick some ass!

I loved the Pique slideshow especially his naked bum and his cutie pie of a son. I know weird combination but hey I could take a bite out of both;). Pique likes mushrooms though? Cesc won´t approve! That could totally endanger Milan´s and Lia´s future love.

It´s still surreal seeing Sergio and Pique holding hands and yet I love it.

    I’m disturbed by Carvalho’s shoes…

    • Mehreh April 12, 2013 at 4:44 pm #

i think he borrowed them from cris. he probably has a few extra pairs.

    • Phédre April 12, 2013 at 6:00 pm #

I think they got them on a discount because almost the entire team has those or similar ones.

I was hoping Barca will get Munich just cause it will be fun to watch. Brooks though is always funny

LMAO! The Clasico scenario killed me. But now the Highlander song is stuck in my head.

I was hoping for a Dortmund – Real final, but at least it’s not going to be a Bayern – Barca one. I guess the most important thing is our boys bringing home la décima.
That Piqué post was great, but I still don’t like him or find him attractive.

I’m thinking that maybe Mou has the playoff beard thing… You know, like NHL and Jay DeMerrit when MLS playoffs are going on.

I love the shot of Iker catching the ball. It looks like he’s getting spit in the face or something. And Arbeloa looks like he’s trying to fart on Calleti in that one picture of them doing their warm-up high kicks.

I really don’t want a Clasico final. But I don’t want Dortmund OR Madrid to face Bayern. I don’t really know how I feel about this… At least I’ll have a team to root for in the final though

Dortmuuuuund! As a Dortmund fan I’ll tell you that most of us preferred Barcelona since they were more defensively frail. But the only plus is that we haven’t lost to RM this year yet… though I have a feeling that is about to change.

    • mygypsyspirit April 12, 2013 at 8:07 pm #

I dunno. RM aren’t exactly stellar at the back this year. Except Pipita’s back… That’s always stellar

      • cy (@meridiansour) April 12, 2013 at 10:11 pm #

The main point was that if we were to lose to RM, it would be completely meaningless since we’ve already beaten them in the group stages. But RM has seriously improved since group stages while Dortmund’s running out of steam a bit.

        Hmmm Pipita’s butt.

I told a friend earlier that I feel like Real Madrid smell blood now, because that’s how this team works. But I also feel a bit like Dortmund want it more. I think that it will be a couple of great matches, for sure. And like I said, I’ll have someone to cheer for no matter who wins this leg (though Madrid are always number one)

          • jellyace April 13, 2013 at 11:14 pm #

I was wondering which way you would swing on this match, but I figured you would cheer each and every goal, no matter who scored.

            • mygypsyspirit April 14, 2013 at 9:34 am #

Oh, I am all in for Real Madrid. I will be extremely disappointed if they lose. But come the final, I’ll have gotten over it. It’s J that will be torn either way. I know she really wants Dortmund to win the final. I’m still new to Dortmund. I just enjoy watching them. But I enjoyed watching Schalke too. Blame Raul 😉

  11. consuela April 12, 2013 at 7:28 pm #

You know Mou can look good if only he would exercise and get rid of the man boobs and please shave every day. It is not a good look for him!

  12. Lici April 13, 2013 at 5:59 am #

Argh! soooo gutted we have drawn dortmund, I really wanted a madrid dortmund final too as at least I would be happy whoever won. Well, I suppose I’ll definitely have someone to root for in the final. It’s going to be a great game 🙂
