Thursday Training, Corazon Classic, Another ICC Update and More Sese In Sevilla

18 Apr

Hey peeps, it was a hell of a long day and I’m only finally getting around to posting. Ugh. Can’t believe it’s nearly 10 PM. So here’s a quick and dirty catch up post (mea culpa!)

Our fine gentlemen trained again today along with Casemiro and Alex. Michael Essien traveled to London to get treatment for his hamstring injury according to La Sexta.

Flo Peezy helmed the presentation of the Realmadrid Foundation’s Corazon Classic Match 2013 Veracruz today. However, the announcement that he was going to do this contained an unintentionally hilarious picture of a giant Zizou head. Yikes!

FlorentinoThe match between Real Madrid legends and Juventus veterans will take place on June 9th. Pepe, Kaka and Karanka were in attendance along with a number of former Real Madrid/Juve players: Emilio Butragueno, Zinedine Zidane, Luis Figo, Fernando Morientes, Francisco Buyo, Fernando Hierro, Pavel Nedved, Gianluca Pessotto and Giusseppe Marotta just to name a few.

Florentino Perez attended the presentation for the charity match that Real Madrid Legends will play against Juventus veterans on 9th June

The Directors’ Box at the Santiago Bernabeu hosted the presentation ceremony for the Corazon Classic Match 2013 Veracruz charity match “In support of childhood”. Following the success of the previous three editions, the Realmadrid Foundation will once again put on the match on 9th June between Real Madrid Legends and Juventus veterans, with the aim of contributing to a good cause: helping those most disadvantaged. All profits will go to the Spanish Red Cross’ program Promoting Success in School through the use of afterschool snacks. The event was attended by Real Madrid C.F.’s President, Florentino Perez; Juventus’ President, Andrea Agnelli; the Mayor of Madrid, Ana Botella; Spanish Red Cross vice president, Javier Senent; the honorary representative of the state government of Veracruz, Max Trejo; Director of Institutional Relations, Emilio Butragueño; Real Madrid C.F. first team players, Pepe and Kaka and Real Madrid assistant coach Aitor Karanka, plus numerous former Real Madrid and Juventus players.

Presentaciýn_del_Corazýn_Classic_Match_2013The fourth edition of the Corazon Classic Match 2013 Veracruz “In support of childhood” that will be played on 9th June at the Bernabeu and is organised by the Realmadrid Foundation was presented amidst great anticipation. Real Madrid and Juventus have dedicated themselves to the cause and this was shown by the representation of both clubs at the ceremony held in the Directors’ Box at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. The match aims to be able to deliver more than half a million afterschool snacks to more than five thousand children across Spain. “This is a legends match but the challenge is in the present, and we should not miss this opportunity to help, football cannot fail the children”, said Florentino Perez.

Presentaciýn_del_Corazýn_Classic_Match_2013 (1)The Real Madrid President was the first to speak at the ceremony in which he wanted to highlight that: “For a further year we can announce that we can look forward to a new date with history and legend. This match will not decide any championship, but this is a thrilling encounter because of everything that it symbolises. The hard work of the club and especially of the Realmadrid Foundation has made this match happen and it is a charitable act which extends us the opportunity to pay tribute to football. Some of the sport’s most important figures meet again for another wonderful challenge, which like football is at the service of society and this time to help the most vulnerable, as children are”.

Presentaciýn_del_Corazýn_Classic_Match_2013 (2)This is the fourth edition of this charity match as was mentioned by Florentino Perez: “On 9th June at the Santiago Bernabeu we will again see an exciting contest between Real Madrid and Juventus, a real footballing pleasure and a match between two of history’s legends. I have to say a special thank you for the collaboration of this friendly club, one of the most loved and admired clubs that is synonymous with grandeur, tradition, success and pride. My thanks and respect go to one of the biggest clubs in the world and I want to thank the president especially for his presence here as it shows his great commitment to the cause”.

Presentaciýn_del_Corazýn_Classic_Match_2013 (3)A match for everyone who comes to the Bernabeu to enjoy, and whilst helping a good cause. “The legends of Real Madrid and Juventus will be together, one-off players who will once again bring fans to their feet. On 9th June in this stadium there will be players like Davis, Pessotto, Nedved, Zidane, Hierro, Butragueño and many more, who will forever be special players. Throughout history the two clubs have competed in matches and for titles, but this match will serve to try to alleviate the enormous difficulties that thousands of children and their families are now living with as they are affected by the terrible crisis that we are living through today. We also appreciate the commitment and collaboration of all of the institutions and companies that are involved through sponsorship so that this campaign can achieve its objective. We also wish to thank the state of Veracruz for showing their commitment to the cause and becoming the main sponsor of this great match”, said Florentino Perez.

Presentaciýn_del_Corazýn_Classic_Match_2013 (10)Juventus president, Andrea Agnelli, also spoke and said: “For me and for Juventus it is a pleasure to be here to present this edition of the Corazon Classic Match 2013 Veracruz. Juventus and its players will do their best to ensure the match will be a celebration and a great event. We will see a spectacle that will be as great as previous editions. For us it is a pleasure and an honour to play in this footballing temple that is part of history”.

The Spanish Red Cross vice president, Javier Senent, thanked Real Madrid for their support towards this great cause. “For us it is a pleasure to be part of this presentation, the proceeds will go to children whose families are in a situation of social vulnerability. I want to thank the Realmadrid Foundation for their generosity and awareness when it came to contributing the resources necessary to make this campaign a success”.

Presentaciýn_del_Corazýn_Classic_Match_2013 (9)To conclude, Ana Botella, the Mayor of Madrid, said: “Our city turns to sports at all levels and local people see sport as one of the things that it is recognised for the world over. A large part of this recognition comes thanks to Real Madrid, one of the best clubs in the world, and whose impact reinforces Madrid’s image. Real Madrid represents sports’ best values and above all a healthy competitiveness, values that we should translate into society as a whole. Sport is one of the best avenues for social integration, and Real Madrid shows that it is an organisation committed to its city. This match represents the values of this club. Holding the Classic Match helps to ensure the well being of many children, which is reason enough for the people from Madrid to fill the Santiago Bernabeu on 9th June”.

Presentaciýn_del_Corazýn_Classic_Match_2013 (6)Attending on behalf of the Whites were Emilio Butragueño, Director of Institutional Relations; first team players Pepe and Kaka; Aitor Karanka, Real Madrid assistant coach and ex-Real Madrid footballers Zinedine Zidane, Luis Figo, Fernando Morientes, Francisco Buyo and Fernando Hierro among others. Attending on behalf of Juventus were Pavel Nedved, Gianluca Pessotto and Giusseppe Marotta.

When I looked at the article earlier it still hadn’t been translated yet. Google Translate gave me a classic interpretation of the pull quote, reminiscent of Iker’s famous “A party will not be easy.”

juveRM finally decided to post something about the International Champions Cup. Here’s a little video action. On May 7th they’ll announce the rest of the teams and the dates that tickets go on sale. Visit the ICC website and follow them on Twitter @IntlChampsCup.

Finally, judyiyy posted a few more shots of Sese enjoying his time in Sevilla. The zipper on the pocket of that blazer just destroys me for some reason. I want to scream “WHYYYYYYYYYYY??????” to the heavens. Unnecessary adornments bug the shit out of me.

It’s the worst when you get home late and by the time you eat dinner, it’s time to go to bed. Bah humbug! Have a good one y’all.

I regret to inform you that Karim has posted a new picture on Facebook and appears to be doing the ‘shocker’. Do these boys even check what gestures they are making?

Aaargh noooo! Why War kitten why?! On a more positive note he did manage to trick someone into making a picture of him.
Well.. unless we reached a whole new level of sadness and he decided to purchase a camera with self-timer.
God.. let’s hope he just tricked some old lady into making a picture of him.

I’m sure that inexplixable blazer zipper pocket is where he keeps his secret scarf stash that he can whip out at will to become the true fashionista we all know he is…. 🙂 Or it could just be where he keeps his mini bedazzler should the spirit move him……

Hahaha your comment really made me laugh 😀
Sadly enough it’s not unthinkable though 😮

    • Phédre April 20, 2013 at 4:14 am #

Hahaha, yes to a mini bedazzler! Sorry, can’t stop giggling over this.

Without unnecessary adornments Sese would not wear it! But damn, he’s beautiful…that face…
Anyone else notice how the back of their shirts points to their gorgeous booties? Great design!
