Getting Ready…

24 Apr

Llegada_al_hotel_de_ýngel_Di_Marýa (2)As we’re awaiting the start of the match, I thought I’d put up a wee bits & bobs post. The good news is that Angel arrived in Dortmund today and will be able to play. That is VERY good news, because it must mean that Jorgelina and the baby are fine. Thank god. I’m sure he wouldn’t leave if there was a major issue. Still sending good thoughts their way.

Several Real Madrid supporters’ clubs have sent contingents to Dortmund. The mothership had some great piccies of the atmosphere in Germany.

I’m a fan of Sweet Cocoa’s adorable footy art, so I thought I’d share a few pieces. The Dortmund-Madrid one is super cute. Remember if you want to see the full artwork, click on the first picture and scroll through the gallery.

There are so many more – you should pop over to Sweet Cocoa Facebook page.

Might as well let Sweet Cocoa take us into the news about Luis Suarez’s punishment for biting Branislav Ivanovic…

Suarez IvanovicSuarez has been handed a whopping 10 match ban for his chomping and earned a supporter in (of all people) Mike Tyson. (Thanks for that, watishista forzasusan) My fave line? “He bit someone, it happens.” Um, not to me, but what do I know?

John Brewin wrote a good piece about apologists over on ESPN FC: Football must accept right from wrong

And here’s a few time wasters to take your mind off the match:

Babies napping in weird positions!

Babies throwing up unintentional gang signs!  (We should just sign them to the team now!)

A cat dressed as a shark riding a Roomba chasing a duckling while a dog dressed as a hammerhead shark sheepishly watches!

A sloth who loves to hug and kiss a kitty cat! It goes from “Awwwww, that’s sweet! Kitties love good scratchies even if those claws are a bit…large” to “HOLY SHIT! THE CAT’S GOING TO NEED TO SHOW SOMEONE ON THE DOLL WHERE THE BAD SLOTH TOUCHED HIM!” Poor cat definitely needs some adult intervention and subsequent therapy.

I definitely got a little freaked out by the end. It was perhaps made more uncomfortable by how slow the sloth is moving.

I think that’s PLENTY to keep us occupied for an hour, don’t you?

C’mon Blancos!

That’s great about DiMaria and his family! I can’t imagine how difficult it must be to go through that. Best best wishes to them.

Ugh! Suarez. Yes he’s an amazing player and I appreciate how important he is to Liverpool but Christ on a bike! He deserves every minute of the match ban.

Oh and suarez. Racial abuse is now deemed ‘better’ than biting someone. Good work the FA. Lets Bite Racism Out Of Football.

Luis Suarez got a 1-match ban for every tooth mark he left on the arm of Ivanovic!
