Why is the last day in the office before vacation always a nightmare of epic proportions?! I’ve been racing around for days trying to get things settled before I leave tomorrow afternoon, but I feel like I’ll be up until midnight easily sorting things out. Haven’t even packed yet. Anyhow, Here’s a quick and dirty catch up post.
The team did their first training to prepare for the Copa Del Rey final on Friday. Sami was back to training intensely, Pipa was inside while Sese, Mesut & Marcelo continued with their recovery.
The Baby had surgery the torn meniscus in his right knee. According to the mothership “the arthroscopic surgery was performed by Dr. Herve Silbert, an orthopaedic surgeon specialised in knee injuries who practices at the Polyclinique Saint-Privat in Beziers (France). The player has been under the supervision of Real Madrid’s Sanitas Medical Services.” Animo, Baby!
Before/after the match the other day, the players were posting shots of themselves on the bench. The mothership also had some goodies.
There’s even more shots of RM players at the Madrid Open (including some happy, smoochy Cris & Irina shots for those were were concerned.) In addition to the usual suspects, Pepe was there along with The Baby & his girlfriend Camille Tytgat! This may be the first time many folks have seen her. Those two keep it low key.
Here’s a few more bits and bobs: Guti took to Twitter to let us all know that recycling glass is a waste of time and that he doesn’t do it (at least according to Google Translate). Thanks for the public service announcement, Guti and SHAME ON YOU!
El Pirata continues to exceed hipster expectations. He posted these shots tonight from Ronnie Scott’s in London where he’s taking in the jazz (and apparently photographing right from the stage). London watishistas might want to haul ass down there. Who knows? He might still be there having a pint!
Here’s a picture of Nando. Just because. Boy oh boy, I can’t wait till the end of the season baby parade. Looking forward to seeing Nora and Leo with their papi.
The US Women’s National Team will be playing Korea Republic on June 15 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA and Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ (an easy 15 minute PATH train from NYC). Tickets are already on sale. I’ll be in the 7th row at Red Bulls Arena along with watishistas Shigs, forzasusan and J9.
And a quick update on Spain vs. Ireland at Yankees Stadium. Watishista P is a Yankees season ticket holder. She got an email today saying that the pre-sale for her is Wednesday, May 15. That means that they will be unbundling the tickets imminently. Keep your eyes on the website. I’ll be in Mexico Tuesday – Sunday but if I hear anything, I’ll let Maisougio know so that she can update you.

Poor baby Varane! 😦
But I would like to say that I love Marcelo.
Have fun in Mexico!!
Pobre Raphael. I hope he has a quick recovery. And all our other injured boys too – lordy I really am ready for this season to be over and to start next season with a healthy squad and renewed hope & energy.
Meanwhile, that Spain match is less than a month away! So excited!
Pauvre croissant! I’m sure he’ll be back in form in no time.
The match pics from Saturday were killing me. They are the cutest bunch of grown millionaires I’ve ever seen.
That’s it. Next summer, I’m not leaving this city until July 1st. Screw work!
Poor Varane 😦 , hope you have a great vacay in Mexico
I LIKE HOW YOU POSTS PICTURES OF NANDO JUST BECAUSE. That’s the best part of the posts. And look at that scruff! Oh my, will we actually see some facial hair?
PS. Have fun in mexico. Drink a margarita for all those stuck here (in freezing/snowing temperatures) doing boring stuff like work.
Ahh, apparently Guti’s tweet was part of a marketing strategy with Ecovidrio to raise awareness on the importance of recycling glass and to promote World Recycling Day.
