A Little La Roja Catch Up Before Kick Off

Fernando Torres

The Spain/Haiti Friendly is going to kick off shortly, so here is a recap of what the boys have been up to, yesterday & today. First up are training pics….inside a bubble?

La Roja wasn’t able to practice at Sun Life Stadium because they got rained out, they opted for a training space outside of Miami instead.

A couple pressers took place today, we heard from VdB, Fernando Torres, & Cesc Fabregas.

“Casillas wants to play, we have seen him as always. We’ve not seen any decline in his physical condition.  It’s already been said that in friendlies we will play everyone, and that includes the goalkeepers. ”

On the getting stormed out of practicing at Sun Life Stadium – “The choices we had were either not training, as has our opponent did, or attempt to do so as we could. Sorry, we could do what we planned, but we decided to work with the conditions that have been.”

On his physical level – “I finished very well, both personally and in my club, I left with a good feeling and being here is a prize again, we get the Confederations Cup which is what is missing from this generation. ”

On the weather – “We did not expect such a climate, it is something we can not control, we have to adapt, prepare well for these matches, they are friendlies but will serve for the Confederations. ”

On the tactics used for the Confederations – “We can afford to play in many ways, what we have to do is try to clarify to coach an option because we all want to play, but if not, then have to accept it and wait for the opportunity. ”

On what position he’ll play – “The coach will decide, I can play both positions, both in front and in midfield. He has that decision and my only care is to be among the eleven.”

On Iker – “I see very well, as always, the most important is his attitude and is always positive. I know after being here seven years with him and he is a great captain.”

A few other boys made media appearances, Soldado gave an interview (that I have no translation for!) to sefutbol.com and Sergio & Pique took a trip to beIN sports studio.

La Roja has already made their way to Sun Life Stadium (duh, kickoff is in 30 min!) and Kay Murray shared these pics of the boys checking out the pitch.

Some of Haiti’s men stepped out to inspect the pitch as well, no word on if their skill is up there with Xavi’s. Let’s hope for an entertaining match that doesn’t get rained out!

Those freckles! Omg, who would have thought freckles could be so alluring?! And those eyes…this girl goes all peculiar for a pair of brown eyes generally, the book I’m reading at the mo contains a description of a spaniash guy with ‘a soft manner and warm brown eyes’… That’s totally Nando!

I know. His freckles drive me nuts. Of course it helps that he is beyond gorgeous. Nando seriously is more beautiful than most women. Just ridiculous!

It’s called The Secret Race, its about doping in the Tour De France. The spanish guy was the doctor providing the dope to the US Postal team…

That’s good enough for me. As long as we get some Iker. We’ve been deprived far too long.

He doesn’t look much different than when he was a boy. Have you seen that picture? Looks like a school picture. Shoot. I sound like a perv!!! I like him now!

Maisougio are you going to watch the match (in the staduim ) ?

    • maisoun June 8, 2013 at 3:59 pm #

I wish! I’ll be watching from Michigan though. Did you get tickets for the match?

HAHAHA! Sergio’s mimicking the American football players. They must be joking: “You hold the ball and you run with it. I’ve been doing that since I was 2! How hard is that?”

And now the players will be demanding a bubble pitch for those days when the rain in Spain flows gently down the plain.

I could not stay awake for the match, but for those who were there, how was it?
