Spain Training - FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013

La Roja arrived in Fortaleza a couple days ago, they just keep going and sometimes it’s hard to keep up with them! Super stretching pics like the one above, always get me back on track though, these thing MUST be shared. Shit, look at Javi Martinez, even he’s excited by the Sernando scene playing out in front of him!

These men are footy rock stars, humongous crowds greet them wherever they go!

Another day, another presser, another trio dishing on all things La Roja – yesterday, it was VdB, Villa, and Pepe Reina’s turn.

On the public – “I think the people of  Maracana stood for the underdog, not against Spain. Against Nigeria we’ll see how fans behave but we are happy withl the Brazilian public.”

On a spot in the Semis – “We can not anticipate. We still must qualify. I shall not speak of the semifinals until we know what position we occupy in the group.”

On the protests in Brazil – “We are not afraid. Brazil is a great country in which we are comfortable and at ease.”

Spain’s secret – “It is true that we are very strong defensively, but we are not a defensive team.”

On the humidity – “It will be the same for everyone. The important thing is that the field is well and I honestly do not think it’s a handicap nor heat nor the hour of four in the afternoon.”

On the starting lineup – “There will be some change. Valdes will play in goal. I always say it is a luxury to choose between great players. They’re all looking forward to playing.”

On Brazil – “A very strong team that does not just give you chances and they also have very good strikers. They know very well how to combine their strengths.”

On the variety of players – “The team is very complete, the coach has a problem, he’s blessed to have many good people, we are to make it difficult for him.”

On Nigeria – “We’re going to go for the win, no matter the classification, we want to win regardless of how they come out.”

On the Golden Boot – “Individual awards are fine, but you try to win collectively as a group. Neither Fernando Torres and I are thinking about it, only to leave here champions.”

On competition within the NT – “In our clubs we play, but here are 23 very good players and you can not play all, if we can participate good, and if not, we try to contribute.”

On organization – “The country is ready, it is having protests and everyone has the right, but yes, they are very well prepared to host the World Cup.”

A lot of fans were present at yesterday’s training session, a lot of them wanted pics with our pretty, pretty, Pony….even the security wanted some of that action.

The round up of yesterday’s twitter shots – nothing new to report, Juan Mata is still the king of landscape shots.

Pretty boys everywhere with this team! Soldado shared a shot of him video chatting with “family.” What an adorable, little chunky, family member he has!

Sergio stretching is a lovely lovely sight. He makes me appreciate muscles that I’ve never even noticed on other men.

I can think of two other muscles I’d like to see Sergio exposing for my viewing pleasure…..*call Nando, he’ll know which ones*

I love how the lads just take the pictures themselves. Iker even gave that lady a lesson on how to use her phone. 😀

I know! I was so impressed at how adept they (Iker and Sergio) are at taking selfies with cell phones!
