Even More Isco…

4 Jul

FBL-ESP-LIGA-REALMADRID-ISCODani Carvajal will be presented tomorrow, so there will be a break in the Isco action. But until then, here’s even more Isco!

First up are some left over goodies from his presentation and some posed shot in his new uniform. (Courtesy of GFSports)

He also did an interview with Real Madrid after his presentation and presser. Damn, I bet he slept soundly after all that brouhaha!

Isco: “I paid attention to Zidane when I was young; watching him play was a delight, pure class”

“Today is the most important day of my career. Setting foot in the Bernabeu and having so many people waiting for you is a huge honour”, said the player from Malaga in an interview with Realmadrid TV and Realmadrid.com

Isco spoke with Realmadrid TV and Realmadrid.com after his unveiling in the Directors’ Box and his first press conference as a Real player: “It’s not every day that you sign with the best squad in the world. Today is the most important day of my career. Putting on the Real shirt is something that you don’t imagine even in your wildest dreams. Setting foot in the Bernabeu and having so many people waiting for you is a huge honour. Real Madrid is as big and as good as it gets”. The new Real player also took the opportunity to thank Florentino Perez for his support: “He’s been very good to me from the start. I appreciate all his support and the trust he’s placed in me. Now I have to give it back on the pitch”.

Today is a very important day for Real Madrid and I imagine that it is for you as well.
It’s not every day that you sign with the best squad in the world. Today is the most important day of my career. I’m very happy to be here.

Your family is here to share this special day. What are your loved ones’ impressions about your move to Real Madrid?
Everyone is really happy that I made it here. Everyone has come, they’ve never failed me, and they’ve always been with me wherever I go. I have to thank them for the effort and dedication they’ve always had. It’s a pleasure to be here.

A lot of people from Malaga have come as well. You left your mark there…
It’s been two great years in Malaga. We made history in a team that wasn’t used to experiencing what it experienced. I’m happy and proud to be here today.

You’ve made excellent progress in just three years. And now you’ve signed with Real Madrid. How do you feel?
It’s a little dizzying because three years ago I was in 3rd division and now I’m here in Real Madrid and it’s hard to assimilate.

Who taught you to play football?
My brother had a lot to do with it; ever since I was really little he’d take me to play with his much older friends. He’s the one who started all this.

When you started to play football with your local team, who realised that you were ready to take the leap?
I had received a few offers and there were people who told me to leave, but I wanted to stay where I was playing football with my friends. I was 12, I knew how to wait for my moment and from there I went to Valencia.

What Real player did you notice as a child?
Zidane was a delight to watch play. He was pure class, I don’t have to describe him; everyone knows how he is.

And now it’s Zidane who requested that Isco play for Real Madrid…
I’m proud that he places his trust in me. That’s huge.

President Florentino Perez said that you were a different kind of player. You were also champion with Spain in the Under-21 European Cup and you won the Golden Boy Award in 2012. How do you assimilate so much recognition?
Little by little. The president has been very good to me from the start. I appreciate all his support and the trust he’s placed in me. Now I have to give it back on the pitch.

Presentaciýn_de_Isco (2)What do you think you can improve?
I have to improve everything. I’m 21 years old, I’m just starting out in the world of football and I’ve made it to the best club in the world to see what I’m capable of.

How did it feel to wear your Real Madrid shirt for the first time?
It was a huge tingling sensation. It’s something that you don’t imagine even in your wildest dreams. Putting on the Real Madrid jersey, setting foot in the Bernabeu and having so many people waiting for you is a huge honour.

Real Madrid has made a significant commitment to young players this year, with players like Carvajal and Morata joining the first team.
Real Madrid is now focusing on really young players and it’s something to be thankful for. There are many good and very young players here who have a lot to give to Madrid.

What first team player caught your attention when you’ve played against Real Madrid?
The majority…Cristiano is a beast, Xabi Alonso, Özil, Sergio Ramos…there’s a lot of talent on this team and we hope to use it to win big titles.

You’ve played with Morata, Nacho and Carvajal in the European Cup. What have they told you about Real Madrid?
They told me things I already knew: that Real Madrid is as big and as good as it gets.

Have you started to see that today?
I’m really happy to be here. No other team has the impact that Real Madrid does worldwide.

You’ve generated a lot of expectation; around 8,000 fans were excitedly waiting for your arrival.
It’s wonderful that people expect things from you, that they place their trust in you. I want to thank the people that came to see me in the stadium today and those that saw me on television.

What goals do you have for next season?
Real Madrid is one of the most demanding teams. I hope to play a lot and above all earn my place and win titles, which is what Real Madrid has to get and what matters most.

Your arrival coincides with that of the new Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti. He’s famous for having good relationships with his players.
I’ve always been a fan. He’s won a lot of titles in each of the leagues he’s coached in, Champions, etc. There’s no need for introductions. I’ve been told that he’s great with all the players, so it’s going to be a wonderful year.

To conclude, the only thing left to talk about is the Champions and the Décima (10th Champions League title).
Everyone involved with Real Madrid is anxious for the Décima and we hope we can get it this year and make the fans really happy.

Presentaciýn_de_IscoHe sounds like a nice, hardworking kid who has his head screwed on straight. I like that. Really looking forward to seeing him play in a RM shirt!

in a few of the shots, it looks like those terrible elbow patches are part of the background, but alas. they are not.

great cheekbones, cute smile, pretty sketchy dress sense, thumbs up game on point. he’s going to do so nicely at RM.

I hope he copies the dress sense of his idols Zidane and Xabi!

he and morata seem like they are besties, so i’m hoping they’re young and impressionable and will follow xabi’s example. not… others. NO DSQUARED.

I’ve got big hopes for this kid. And Morata and Carvajal – all our young’uns, really. I want ’em to all have Varane-like trajectories.
