German second division club St. Pauli announced that as of today, they will permanently fly the rainbow flag symbolizing gay pride in their Hamburg stadium.
St Pauli vice-president Dr. Gernot Stenger said “The club has been active for many years against homophobia and discrimination,”
“With this flag, we are giving this highly-visible sign that these issues have great importance at St. Pauli and we are working hard on them.”
The teams gay & lesbian supporters club Queerpass Sankt Pauli said it would be a “quantum leap for the football world’‘ if one of the 18 teams of the Bundesliga followed suit.
Good for you, St. Pauli! Fight the good fight! (We’ll even forgive you for that time you killed Santa Claus)

I heart St Pauli so much! They do activism with style; check out their website for more dets but their t-shirt with a stick man putting a swastica in a bin is just a triumph…its a play on the ‘Don’t litter’ campaigns, just awesome
😀
Don’t know how to say AWESOME in German, so I’ll just say it in my own language!!! Love this team.
That’s so great!
