Our bootylicious boy (he’s still our’s in my heart. Sorry, Napoli) gave his first presser for his new team today.

The enthusiasm of “Pipita”: Thanks to the President and to our fans, the San Paolo is a wonderful stadium

“I am here to win, Napoli is an important Club.” Gonzalo Higuain is happy and very determined in the day of this first press conference in Castelvolturno. The so called “Pipita” praised his new club, the city and tells about his emotion with Napoli.

When did you choose Napoli?

“I chose immediately, right after I received their offer. I made my decision after talking with President De Laurentiis. I realized that this club has been doing things well and has got an ambitious project. We can achieve something important.”

After Maradona, this city dreams of another Argentinian…

“Everybody has telling me about him and about Napoli for many years. I know this team because I saw it playing in the Champions League and I was really surprised. I dream too, like our fans do. I want to thank this club for the trust they have granted to me and I aim at rewarding it on the field.”

What do you think about your new team?

“I have been here for just a few days, but I can say that this is a wonderful group. There is a winning manager and many international players. Our squad is competitive and we can really be on top.”

While in Real Madrid, you played with several great champions. What are you expecting from this new adventure?

“Yes, I had the privilege to play with talented and worldwide known players, but here as well I met many great footballers. In my opinion our strength must be the group’s unity and the collective game. I am at my team’s disposal to give my best.”

In Italy there are many strong forwards: do you feel ready for this challenge?

“I am not challenging anybody, I just want to help Napoli. I think only about my team. We have got the potentials to achieve great goals and we are able to win in all the competitions.”

How do you feel during the your presentation at the San Paolo stadium?

“Awesome. Many footballers had told me about the passion of Napoli, but experiencing it is something unique. The San Paolo is a legendary stadium. Also for this reason I chose this city and this jersey. People here are warm and passionate like me and I would love to win in order to reward them for their support.”

Man, why is this so hard? It’s like seeing your ex, who you dearly love even though it didn’t work out. He’s moved on and you care for him, so you want him to be happy but you can’t help being a bit jealous of his new love and thinking about what might have been. ::sniffle::

I hate my team breaking up. This transfer season has been exceptionally bad on the emotions already. Prepare for it to get worse. It’s being reported in the press that Napoli is preparing a bid for Arbeloa! The silver lining to that would be Booty CAAll/The Double As would be reunited, but WTF Napoli? Are you just big fans of bromantic quadrangles? Is Aurelio De Laurentiis a watishisto who just wants to keep them a matched set? Part of me is hoping it’s true and part is not.  I wanted to see The Double As’ sons grow up together. BTW,  Baby Boy Albiol is named Romeo which his mami shared on Instgram. (A little Beckham influence there? Or perhaps Arbie’s nickname for Chori?) I’d love to see the Mini As playing together. But that means we’d lose Alvaro too. Argh.

WHY IS LIFE SO COMPLICATED? WHY IS THIS TRANSFER SEASON SO DIFFICULT? WHY DO I, A GROWN ASS WOMAN, CARE SO MUCH ABOUT ALL THIS?!

Sigh. Time to step away from the Napoli website, methinks. It just causes pain to my heart.
